The cadet force is a constructive organisation that educates the youth of Newport in life skills, discipline & a stepping stone to either TA or the services. I strongly feel the cadets should have facilities provided by the council as the present situation is ill thought out at the expense of the cadets, I ask where is the counties commitment to the cadets & their future or does it not come into the equation when money is involved.

Before becoming a cadet at Newport detachment I had extremely low self esteem and confidence. 4 years later I was the Cadet Company Sergeant Major and can credit the Shropshire Army Cadet Force with most of the positive personal attributes I have and getting me where I am in life. The detachment is extremely important to the local community and young people in particular and is in a safe, convenient location. The school and town should be proud to support this petition.

I hope that T & W do the right thing and renew the lease to the Cadet Detachment hut.
It is not part of the redevelopment plans so I wonder WHY this problem has arisen. Is it because it is NEWPORT??????

My son attends the detachment, it has allowed him to grow and continually develop life changing skills. The atmosphere is one that is friendly and approachable please sign to keep Newport detachment open.

Please do not remove any more facilities from Newport ( Post sorting office. Police Station, Recycling facility)
Youth of Newport require more outlets such as the cadets NOT less.

We need to encourage young people to join and volunteer for organisations such as this. They have an excellent reputation for local events and I would be sad to see this in any way stopped.

The Newport detachment of Army cadets are a credit to themselves and the Town. Telford and Wrekin council have a duty to support the cadets.

Any youth organisation deserves all the help it can get. Why don't the authorities realise this?

It would be nice if Telford and Wrekin council actually considered the views of people living in and using facilities here, but I have no faith in them as to date our opinions have counted for nothing. Please for once, take the local communities views into account!

It is extremely important that the youth of our towns and cities have access to groups such as these, especially to give them an interest in the community, and vice versa. They need to feel wanted, instead of being left to their own devices.
