As parents of HCI, recently we received a letter from the school regarding the increases of the School Term & Service Fees with effect from the next term onwards. For some students, it’s above 30%, 40%, 50%, etc. Calculated figures are very high and seems very unreasonable.

Even though we all are aware about the current situation of the country and the difficult period we all are under gone, we never expected that HCI would go for such a high increase of fees at this moment, given that most of the parents are also running their families in a very tight way due to the same problems which were explained in the letter as for the reasons of fees increases. As parents we are also facing many financial issues since many months. We had to spent 3 times than before on the school stationaries and other items (shoes, bags, uniforms, etc.) as an example over the other high expenses we have.

And also it was noticed that the fees were incresed even in the last September for the new academic year. 

Majority of the parents are sending more than 1 child to the HCI and hence it’s not possible to afford to a increase of such a high percentage and it is not acceptable.  

Due to all these factors, we thought that this is another way to express our objections to the recently sent letter about the fees increases and use this as an opportunity to stand on behalf of all the students of HCI and their parents to send a powerful message to the school to reconsider the decision made to increase the fees.

HCI හි දෙමාපියන් වශයෙන්, මීළඟ වාරයේ සිට ක්‍රියාත්මක වන පරිදි පාසල් වාර සහ සේවා ගාස්තු වැඩි කිරීම සම්බන්ධයෙන් අපට පාසලෙන් ලිපියක් මෑතකදී ලැබුණි. සමහර සිසුන් සඳහා, එය 30%, 40%, 50%, ආදියට වඩා වැඩි ය. ගණනය කළ සංඛ්‍යා ඉතා ඉහළ වන අතර ඉතා අසාධාරණ ලෙස පෙනේ.    

රටේ වත්මන් තත්ත්වය සහ අප සියලු දෙනා ගෙවී ගොස් ඇති දුෂ්කර කාල පරිච්ඡේදය පිළිබඳව අප සියලු දෙනාම දැනුවත්ව සිටියද, බොහෝ දෙමාපියන්ට, මේ මොහොතේ HCI මෙතරම් ඉහළ ගාස්තු වැඩි කිරීමකට යයි යැයි අපි නොසිතුවෙමු. ගාස්තු වැඩි කිරීමට හේතු ලෙස ලිපියේ පැහැදිලි කර ඇති ගැටළුම හේතුවෙන් ඔවුන්ගේ පවුල් ඉතා දැඩිලෙස අසරණව සිටිති. දෙමව්පියෝ විදියට අපිත් මාස ගාණක ඉඳන් ආර්ථික ප්‍රශ්න රැසකට මුහුණ දෙනවා. පාසලේ ලිපි ද්‍රව්‍ය සහ අනෙකුත් භාණ්ඩ (සපත්තු, බෑග්, නිල ඇඳුම් ආදිය) සඳහා පෙරට වඩා 3 ගුණයක් වියදම් කිරීමට සිදු වූයේ අප සතු අනෙකුත් අධික වියදම්වලට වඩා අමතර ලෙසිනි.      

එමෙන්ම නව අධ්‍යයන වර්ෂය සඳහා පසුගිය සැප්තැම්බර් මාසයේ දී පවා ගාස්තු වැඩි කර ඇති බව නිරීක්ෂණය විය.      

දෙමව්පියන්ගෙන් බහුතරයක් HCI වෙත 1 දරුවෙකුට වඩා යවන අතර එබැවින් එය එතරම් ඉහළ ප්‍රතිශතයකින් වැඩි කිරීමට දරාගත නොහැකි අතර එය පිළිගත නොහැකිය.      

මේ සියලු කාරණා නිසා අපි හිතුවා මෑතක දී ගාස්තු වැඩි කිරීම ගැන යවන ලද ලිපියට අපේ විරෝධය ප්‍රකාශ කිරීමට මෙය තවත් ක්‍රමයක් වන අතර ප්‍රබල පණිවිඩයක් යැවීමට HCI හි සියලුම සිසුන් සහ ඔවුන්ගේ දෙමාපියන් වෙනුවෙන් පෙනී සිටීමට මෙය අවස්ථාවක් කර, ගාස්තු වැඩි කිරීමට ගත් තීරණය නැවත සලකා බලන ලෙස පාසලට බල කරන්න.
