Save Culinary Arts Program at North Oconee

This petition is to keep the Culinary Arts program at North Oconee High School. The Oconee County Board of Education has made a decision to end the pathway of Culinary Arts and as concerned students, teachers, and parents, think that this is extremely inequitable.
Culinary Arts is not only a great pathway to prepare for responsibilities and life in general, but for those who want to further their careers in restaurant businesses as waitresses, chefs, restaurant owners, etc.
Many students sign up to get Culinary as a class each year, and many are declined because there is not enough room in the class. This just shows how many students are interested in taking this pathway. It is one of the most popular pathways at North Oconee High School, and so many students would be devastated to see such a fun, thriving class have to end.
In this class, students learn not only how to cook a various amount of foods and different meals, but we learn responsibility, life lessons, business managing, and great life skills that are relevant to our future. Culinary is an extremely enjoyable class to take and teaches us valuable information that can truly be applied to our daily lives.
