SAY NO TO 700 apartments and 17,000 square feet of commercial and retail space proposed for Hamilton Mill at I-85 and Sardis Church Road.

SAY NO TO 15 high-density multi-story buildings and SAY NO to more overburdened infrastructure.

Patricia Wickline (Dacula, 2023-07-29)

#602

I am signing because I am OPPOSED to the additional 700 apartments plus 17000 square feet of commercial properties at Hamilton Mill at I-85 & Sardis Road

Felix Tshimanga (Dacula, 2023-07-29)

#604

This is too much for our area

Aida Masic (Dacula , 2023-07-29)

#609

We already have gridlock traffic and overcrowded schools. The area doesn’t need apartments or retail stores as there is already plenty for the community to choose from.

Daniel Donat (Dacula, 2023-07-30)

#612

There is too much development in the area as it is. Schools are overcrowded and so are roads

Mandi Brodsky (Gwinnett, 2023-07-31)

#613

I’m signing this petition because this area is already so crowded, traffic is heavy, and we do not want more of the burdens that go along with more congestion in the area. It is difficult to turn out of my subdivision now. I work at a school in the area. We are already over our projection for enrollment and school has not yet started.

Lori Pirkle (Buford, 2023-07-31)

#615

Our area is over populated already. I teach and our schools can not handle the increase in the number of students. Our roads can not handle the traffic.

Carolyn Rivers (Dacula, 2023-07-31)

#617

We don’t need more traffic

Peggy Culpepper (Buford, 2023-07-31)

#619

Too many Apts. Schools, roads utilities and traffic cannot handel.

Karen Douglas (Flowery Branch , 2023-07-31)

#622

Traffic is already horrible especially at I-85, Hamilton Mill, 124 intersections.

Gayle Hayes (Buford, 2023-07-31)

#624

Area is already overcrowded with the new High School and traffic. The round abouts have not helped the situation. This amount of housing in this area will be detrimental to the existing homeowners trying to navigate to work and other places.

Brenda Brown (Buford, 2023-07-31)

#625

Do not want this at all!!!

Marissa bowen (Buford, 2023-07-31)

#627

Our infrastructure can not support anymore people in our area. We picked this spot because it was low density. The people in charge have constantly been trying to change that.

Noel Rooney (Dacula, 2023-07-31)

#629

We have a ton of new constructions home around traffic is horrible and we do have the infrastructure to handle anymore

Sam Miller (Dacula, 2023-07-31)

#630

We seriously do not need more traffic on Sardis Church rd. Everywhere you look, our GREENERY is being leveled to built more stores and housing. THE AREA IS PACKED ENOUGH !!! You can't even get out of the development to get on Hamilton Mill road with traffic coming down the hill, to the light. Leave thing as they are ....

SANDY NATKIN (BUFORD, 2023-07-31)

#631

Will cause s as dditional traffic without the means to handle it.

Kevin Morrison (Buford, 2023-07-31)

#633

I am signing this petition in to show my strong objection to this proposal - especially since there wasn’t a traffic study.

Deborah Hamilton (Hoschton, 2023-07-31)

#634

We don’t need the traffic

Robyn Johnson (Dacula, 2023-07-31)

#635

Too much Traffic

Jodi Edwards (Buford, 2023-07-31)

#636

We have so much traffic already with Seckinger High School. There is no way the two lane Sardis Church could take on any more traffic.

Deborah Stanfield (Buford , 2023-07-31)

#639

too close to the school and we do not need a over populated school or additional apartment/townhomes.

kandi peterman (bufod, 2023-07-31)

#640

do not rezone and add apartments. The area does not need this.

tyler peterman (Buford, 2023-07-31)

#641

I am opposed to the planned use of this property proposed to be primarily apartment buildings. Such will bring harm to the roads and infrastructure, including traffic conditions!

Beatty McCaleb (Dacula, 2023-07-31)

#645

No more apartments! Let there be some green space

John Suare (Dacula, 2023-07-31)

#646

Development has reached a point of ruin for this county and her people. Traffic is already a major issue. There are no restaurants serving real food, only hamburger chains and bad Mexican. The air already tastes of dirt and gas. The deforestation is beyond repair. Attempting to destroy a county this rapid of a pace is a mockery of the term “quality of life”. We have been sold out and are without a voice representing the people who were born and raised in this area.

H. Thomas (Buford, 2023-07-31)

#647

I’m against this project.

Joan Queen (Dacula, 2023-07-31)

#648

It is too many homes for that small of a plot and the roads can’t handle all the traffic on it now.

marion moore (buford, 2023-07-31)

#649

The area around Fort Daniel Elementary and Hamilton Mill areas are TOO CROWDED for this added traffic! We have so many new neighborhoods already under construction that will be added as it is. We can’t get out of our neighborhoods and there are non stop accidents due to the amount of volume in this area. PLEASE stop with the over building in this area! Our roads can’t handle anymore!

Angie Barrett (Dacula, 2023-07-31)

#650

I don’t want more apartments in the area.

Garrett Conner (Dacula, 2023-08-01)

#653

A new school just opened last school year on Sardis Church Road and the roads need to be widened as is so no more traffic needs to pass through. No apartments are needed in this area. There is already too much commercial retail space in that area. Semi trucks are already speeding heavily on I85, Gravel Springs which makes the roads unsafe for drivers of non commercial vehicles. Citizens in this area need to be heard about the burden of more infrastructure in an already over developed area.

Janice Rooker (Buford, 2023-08-01)

#658

This reason will negatively affect our schools and traffic, both of which are overcrowded. This is supposed to be a suburban neighborhood, not urban. We ask that you vote no! Apartments are not desirable in this area nor do they make sense. Use the land use map.

Alyson Wages (Dacula, 2023-08-01)

#661

We are already struggling with over development, extreme traffic, and the schools will be negatively impacted as well by overcrowding. We do not need apartments, and we certainly don’t need additional retail. The members of this community continue to speak out against these attempts and it seems it doesn’t matter, they just keep coming. It’s disappointing and it feels like Gwinnett will approve anything from eye sores of warehouses, to new build stand alone houses that are only for rent, to apartments and townhomes for rent. The overcrowding in this area is unbelievable, we the people say NO to additional development, especially since Gwinnett doesn’t seem to understand that roads and schools can only hold so many. Greed is all it is.

Heather Decker (Dacula, 2023-08-01)

#664

I’m signing the petition to say NO to rezone

Donald Swiden (Dacula, 2023-08-01)

#667

Over congestion favors no one !

Donald Collier (Dacula , 2023-08-01)

#668

The area is already too congested!!

Tammy Owens (Dacula, 2023-08-01)

#672

This project needs to be stopped.

Andra Hilley (Dacula, 2023-08-01)

#673

Traffics on Sardis church rd is already horrible with seckinger and there is a wreck weekly getting out of my subdivision behind Chili’s w us and Chick-fil-A traffic. Hamilton Mill rd and Sardis Church can not handle any more traffic

Stephanie Kimbell (Buford, 2023-08-01)

#678

Not enough space to put in a large apartment complex in that area.

Elaine Curativo (Dacula, 2023-08-01)

#679

Sardis Chase Ct

Lori Ezell (Buford, 2023-08-01)

#681

This area cannot support this size of this proposed development. The congestion is horrible! This out of control development is ruining the community! The reason we all invested in this part of Gwinnett County was the beauty and lack of massive uncontrolled building.

Cynthia Conway (Dacula, 2023-08-01)

#685

The location of the proposed development is already overburdened. Adjacent and nearby commercial development have rendered the area dangerous and difficult to navigate. Proximity to the interstate creates additional traffic burden.

Luther Beck (Buford, 2023-08-01)

#690

This area is already overcrowded and he roads can't handle traffic. No more building without infrastructure please.

Linda Collinge (Hoschton , 2023-08-01)

#694

This development cannot proceed for multiple reasons. The new Seckinger high school would be greatly affected. More so however I understand no traffic study was done and if it had been it would show that it's impossible to put this in such a condensed location. The traffic on Sardis Church road going into Hamilton mill road is already highly congested and borderline dangerous. Adding 700 apartments and such a large retail area would make this beyond a nightmare adding accidents and safety issues and unrealistic traffic. Multiple school routes and others commute this area with issue. But adding this would likely mean another red light and so 3 in less than a quarter mile from Hamilton Mill to Seckinger. This simply cannot be allowed and would in no way be a positive addition to our community and would only make a bad situation horrible.

Greg Thomas (Buford, 2023-08-02)

#696

We do not want this

Casey Matzick (Dacula, 2023-08-02)

#700

We need wider roads and sidewalks around the whole area plu by Seckingher hs

Nisha Savanhu (Buford, 2023-08-02)

#701

I'm against this proposal. It's already over crowded roads in the area. The new high school already brings more traffic.

Marcia Coleman (Buford , 2023-08-02)

#702

This new community will affect the quality of life and block traffic which is already bad

Ayman Shehata (Buford, 2023-08-02)

#704

the infrastructure does not support anything this large in the area and will cause too much congestion for an area that is already congested. the new school already caused exponential changes to our traffic in the morning and afternoons, this would just make it worse.

Matt Compton (Buford, 2023-08-02)

#707

Traffic is bad enough already and this area has already become incredibly overcrowded

Dani Heinzen (Buford, 2023-08-02)

#710

Our infrastructure cannot support. Too much development

Lisa Dye (Hoschton, 2023-08-02)

#715

Against this project. It’s already becoming congested in the area and this will make matters worse in addition to apartments bringing down the value of our homes.

Eboni Cummings (Hoschton, 2023-08-02)

#720

I live in the area and the traffic is already bad especially during rush hour and weekends on Hamilton Mill so to add an additional 700 units no way.

Ann Forbes (Buford , 2023-08-02)

#722

The area in which the apartments are being suggested can not handle the increase in traffic. This section is already too busy

Jeanette Dormio (Dacula, 2023-08-02)

#723

We have enough congestion already. We just had an incredible high school built. We do not need 700 apartments being built to crowd Seckinger High school. It was built to relieve Mill Creek and here we go just overcrowding it too. Please please do not allow this. It will negatively impact the value of our homes.

Christy Cheek (Buford, 2023-08-02)

#725

Do not want any more commercialism near my neighborhood.

Gregory Fleniken (Dacula , 2023-08-02)

#726

We don’t need anymore traffic at the location where they plan on placing 700 apartments. It is terrible traffic in that area already!
Additionally Putting 700 apartments amidst our community of 2200+ families in Hamilton Mill is an awful idea making our community a more transient community and devaluing our property values!

Polly Byrnes (Dacula, 2023-08-02)

#727

Signing against the development. This is not the right location for this project.. too close to the highschool and too close to the interstate.

Veronica Sullivan (Buford , 2023-08-02)

#729

Increase in traffic, crime, and devaluation of property.

Michael Yopp (Hoschton , 2023-08-02)

#731

The traffic on Sardis Church is already bad enough especially since Seckinger High School opened. We don’t have the infrastructure to support an additional 700 families traveling the 2 lane farm road. I believe building an apartment building on Sardis Chirch will negatively affect our property value.

Amethyst Leyva (Buford, 2023-08-03)

#733

Too much overcrowding!!

Paula LaBarbera (Buford, 2023-08-03)

#735

Travis Williams

Travis Williams (Buford, 2023-08-03)

#737

Hamilton Mill needs to be widened and routed with proper signage and traffic lights to accommodate any additional traffic from any kind of future developments, whether commercial or residential.

Judy Murtz (Buford , 2023-08-03)

#738

This is way too much for the area. Our area cannot support this many more people. It’s definitely not for the betterment of the community. Just to line someone’s pockets.

Tracy Williams (Hoschton, 2023-08-03)

#740

Overdevelopment causes too much traffic and crime rates to increase. We have enough

Ryan Stealey (Lawrenceville, 2023-08-03)

#741

I don't agree with the construction. Absolutely.

Gian Cevallos (Buford, 2023-08-03)

#742

I have lived in the same location in Gwinnett for 23 years and the uncontrolled growth has created all sorts of traffic issues not to mention school issues. I am a Gwinnett county teacher and recognize the additional burden this would also place on our already overcrowded high schools.

How can I help?!

Danielle Matzick (Dacula , 2023-08-03)

#745

For my daughter’s safety

Kay Lee (Buford, 2023-08-03)

#746

We do not have the capacity for the traffic adding 700 households would bring. It’s already too congested as is.

Shelise Lowe (Buford, 2023-08-03)

#748

I take Hamilton Mill rd to work and home daily, and I already see how overworked these roads are. No apartments!! No more strip malls with crap businesses that leave them vacant within 3 years!

Kara York (Buford, 2023-08-03)

#749

I don’t want overpopulation of Hamilton Mill area and High School

Genevieve Dinh (Buford, 2023-08-03)

#750

This development is not a good fit and this area already suffers from terrible traffic congestion.

Hugh Crossman (Dacula, 2023-08-03)

#754

This area feels like the only untouched part of Gwinnett County. My family has been a part of Gwinnett County—more specifically Dacula, Lawrenceville, and Buford area since before 1930. I’ve watched family and friends leave the area because of the influx of homes and apartments squeezed in where fields and trees once were. Every day of the week it takes more than an hour to go 13 miles from the end of Spout Springs Road to downtown Lawrenceville. Who ever is planning on adding to this insanity either works from home or doesn’t live here.

Sarah Webb (Buford, 2023-08-04)

#757

We don’t want this here. Traffic is already crazy here, just leave us be. We have enough residential and businesses here, we don’t want or need it.

We already experience gridlock just trying to get places. Enough is enough. Stop padding pockets and think about the people who live here.

Gwinnett has always had the “build it and that will come” mentality.

Stop the madness! Gwinnett is full!

Christina Miller (Dacula , 2023-08-04)

#758

I live here there is already to much traffic and accidents as is!

Maria Flores (Buford, 2023-08-04)

#759

We need a park for the school so the children can have fields for sports.

Amy Kasimatis (Buford, 2023-08-04)

#760

This 700 unit complex will drastically impact an already congested area near my home. I recently purchased a home in this area and it worries me that a large an influx of people will bring a massive amount of cars to a 2 lane road.

Tonya Brown (Buford , 2023-08-04)

#761

No pedestrian traffic is possible in that area, roads are over crowded already, the Chick-fil-A traffic alone in that spot blocks Hamilton Mill Rd, Seckinger High School will not be accessible in the morning and afternoon for students, parents, and buses due to 700 families adding to the traffic on Sardis Church Road, a two lane road already overburdened.

Which board member is profiting off this pain and suffering they wish to inflict on the local area? Only a corrupt politician would even suggest this insanely stupid idea.

Jeffrey Hall (Buford, 2023-08-04)

#765

The infrastructure of roads cannot handle this large of a complex. This area is highly congested already.

Jennifer Leichter (Buford, 2023-08-04)

#766

The area is already too congested. We do not need to overcrowd Seckinger High School. Apartments are not right for this area.

Karen Adams (Buford, 2023-08-04)

#767

It’s too congested in our area.

Erica Diaz (Buford, 2023-08-04)

#774

The area is very busy with all the new builds. The schools are over crowded. They had to add trailers at the elementary in the area to accommodate all the new enrollments. The traffic is also a huge concern.

Jeaneia Zamora (Buford, 2023-08-04)

#777

I don’t want this project to happen.

Nicole Johnson (Buford, 2023-08-04)

#778

I oppose this due to the negative congestive impact that this will have without first addressing the infrastructure to support it.

Kevin Fouquette (Buford, 2023-08-04)

#779

I am signing because of the significant negative impact this would have on our already heavily populated area. It would impact an already dense traffic area as well as impede on the newly opened new H.S.
It's a two Lane Road (one lane in each direction of the road) and two roundabouts had to be created to help with ease the congestion and flow of traffic in that area.

Mckeva Livingstone (Buford, 2023-08-04)

#781

The infrastructure cannot handle more development in this area.

Ellen Zino (Dacula, 2023-08-04)

#782

I’m right dab in the middle of this

Vickie Flood (Buford , 2023-08-04)

#783

There is already serious overcrowding in our school, I oppose the new development

Renee Ballard (Buford, 2023-08-04)

#786

Apartments have no roots in the community. All studies show a rise in crime when apartments are that close to the interstate. After 1 year development will be sold to the highest bidder with no connection to the community just a portfolio. Closed door meetings with only attorneys and board members to dictate their perceived outcomes. The money.

Max Shirley (Buford, 2023-08-04)

#787

I live off Hamilton Mill on Tuggle Rd. The section of Hamilton Mill and Tuggle Rd. has always been a problem area with terrible traffic jams and accidents. We petitioned the new housing development on Tuggle Rd. The homes aren’t built yet but when they are the traffic will just add to the problem. The area proposed between I 85 and Sardis Church, especially apartments is a bad idea. The traffic before and after the I 85 / Hamilton Mill and Sardis Church intersection is already taxed with jams and accidents. I drive to Home Depot on the Dacula side every day and know the area well. I don’t know the traffic solution to this but adding more to it will create multiple problems.

David Flood (Buford, 2023-08-04)

#788

There is no traffic study that supports the viability of this construction in the community. The current infrastructure does not meet the standards to accommodate approximately 1,400 additional vehicles.

Ednilda Colon (Buford, GA, 2023-08-04)

#789

I do not agree with this development

Lizz Monreal (Buford , 2023-08-04)

#790

There is already too much traffic in the area of the high school. Not safe to add so much additional in an area where so many students are driving on a daily basis.

Tonya Harber (Buford, 2023-08-04)

#793

I’m signing because traffic is already congested at this location and the new high school just opened and it will be overcrowded with all the new housing that is already being built. Don’t add any more. There are empty apartments at the mall just waiting for tenants.

Karen OHagan (Buford, 2023-08-05)

#795

Our county roadways and schools are over populated.

Pam Overstreet (Buford, 2023-08-05)

#796

This area is already horribly overcrowded we do not need more apartments especially in this specific area…

Daniel Posnack (Buford, 2023-08-05)

#798

Traffic is imposible now and if we add more apartments can be worst

Hector Forero (Dacula, 2023-08-05)

#800

I want to prevent more congestion and over crowding in our area. Enough!!

Diane Mallin (Buford, 2023-08-05)
