Comments

#602

I oppose these mandates and will not use ANY umass services until the mandates are wnded

Lisa Harris (Spencer, 2022-01-22)

#608

Mandates violate my religious faith in Jesus, He told me the vaccine is not necessary, also, they’re against our constitutional rights, end your foolishness now.

Dave Chapman (Palmer , 2022-01-22)

#610

I'm signing because I oppose mandatory vaccination requirements since it's my body and my choice.

Mark Czerwinski (Woburn, 2022-01-22)

I completed my undergraduate degree in Biology & am almost done with my master’s degree at UMass Boston; however, with only a couple of classes left, I m left unable to finish my graduate degree because I refuse to be injected with the EXPERIMENTAL Covid-19 shot! I have many medical & religious reasons for my decisions, which I should not even have to justify, since it is my God-given right to decide what goes into my body! I refuse to give money to any institution that does not honor that right & hope that you will reconsider your decision to mandate an experimental shot on a student population that do not want and/or need it, especially when the shot comes with many very serious health risks to those who comply!

Aubrey Feldman (Easton, 2022-01-22)

#623

The covid vaccine has been proven to not prevent transmission. The CDC even acknowledges this! Even if the shots offer some level of individual protection, there’s no reason to mandate an experimental drug therapy on the masses (especially on healthy, young people.) Stop perpetuating the fear. It’s time to return to normal.

Tiffany Ross (Southampton , 2022-01-23)

#625

I don't believe anyone should be coerced into taking any medical intervention, especially this experimental injection

Chaim Adelman (Hadley, MA, 2022-01-23)

#626

The science clearly shows that there is minimal risk to most healthy people.
99.85% recovery
The shots are not vaccines. They're drugs. They don't prevent infection or transmission.
They're not without risk.

Albert Brox (Cotuit, 2022-01-23)

To UMass administrators:
The University has neither the right, nor any justification, for mandating or coercing people to undergo an experimental procedure; especially an ineffective, unnecessary, and demonstrably harmful one that is being performed under an emergency use authorization. There is no public health emergency caused by SARS-CoV-2; however many have been caused by the disproportionate response to it.
I advise the University administration to do its homework and to get on the right side of history.
Sincerely,
Eric Martinson

The shots do not work and are doing more harm than good. #naturalimmunity

#630

Free choice no mandates

Maureen Kayata (Attleboro , 2022-01-23)

#635

Mandates are not law. Government nor education Institutions have legal power nor authority to issue Mandate of a medical procedure requiring injection of experimental & not fully approved gene therapy treatments; MRNA technologies. Massachusetts law, Hippa rights, and the Nuremberg code Preserve and protect in individuals rate for consent. Exclusion from a public facility and or college education is unconstitutional And opens the population for legal course. In the case of adverse reactions & death, college presidents, town officials and governors should be held legally and criminally responsible.

Mark Casey (Andover, 2022-01-23)

#639

Where there is risk, there must be choice.
Prevention must be balanced with a risk/benefit analysis for each person individually.
The risk of mRNA Covid booster shots causing heart inflammation in young adults continues to worry top scientists weighing whether to approve third doses for anyone over 12, Dr. Ofer Levy, a voting member of the Food and Drug Administration’s advisory panel, said Friday (10/15/2021).
We have effective protection against serious covid illness in addition to vaccines. Federal regulators have authorized Pfizer’s antiviral pill, Paxlovid, to treat early symptoms of COVID-19. And according to Pfizer’s CEO Albert Bourla, the company’s anti-COVID pill, Paxlovid, “changes everything,” as a new way to fight serious illness. Pfizer said in December that its Paxlovid pill reduced hospitalizations and deaths in vulnerable people by almost 90 percent.

I am an alumni and your mandates are NOT based in science, merely propaganda that has gotten completely out of control.

Jessica Abu-Hijleh (Beverly, 2022-01-24)

#652

Where there is a risk, there must be choice!

Amanda Davis (Taunton , 2022-01-24)

#654

My daughter lives and works in Boston...and I want her to have the choice not to be forced to vax.

Carol Donadio (Kingsport, 2022-01-24)

#655

Medical freedom. I will choose to send my children to other schools.

Michelle Feeney (Wilmington, 2022-01-24)

#657

I don’t want to see the university I love impose unjust mandates on its students. Not all diseases are the same, some will never have a vaccine. Covid-19 is probably one of them.

Brian Partridge (Devens, 2022-01-24)

#660

It's my right

Carolyn Federico (Plainville, 2022-01-24)

#664

My daughter goes to UMASS and she should be able to make her own desicion.

Rachael Hauer (North Attleboro, 2022-01-24)

#670

I want my country to respect my God-given rights, and to have free choice! I also want doctors to go back to being real doctors and not being told what to do by insurance companies or Pharma!!

Beth VanHoven (Hudsonville, 2022-01-24)

#673

I’m signing because as a UMass/Boston amd Amherst alum, I am saddened to see the policies put forth by the university about vaccine mandates. These vaccines have not been shown as safe. There is no longterm safety data and no University has the right to demand that a student attending the school risk their future health. Especially when there is very little risk to the students. I already know UMass students who have had adverse events due to taking the vaccines so they could continue their education. Since Pfizer is not liable then I would expect that UMass would be for those suffering injuries by an illegal mandate. There is no way a person can give fully informed consent when there is no data on the risks of how the Covid vaccines may affect them in the future. And the multiple vaccines that do not protect or keep transmission from happening show a lack of efficacy that is mind blowing. How any university can make these demands shows me it is not a school worthy of any future donations on my part.

Rebecca Wuenschel (Rockport, 2022-01-24)

#674

The vaccine does not work against Omnicron and young healthy adults don't need it, they are not high risk.

Douglas MacKinnon (Burlington, MA, 2022-01-24)

#675

This has to end. The science and facts are all there. The Vaccines are not the solution, rather, they are the problem.

Timothy M Jahelka (Aguanga, 2022-01-24)

#677

I want vaccine mandates stopped.

Julie Fitzgerald (Duxbury, 2022-01-24)

#678

I never thought that the right to bodily autonomy would have to be at the top of my daughter’s wish list for colleges, but I can promise that it is. Members of my own family have sustained heart damage secondary to this vaccine; I fail to understand why a cohort that's at an infinitesimally small risk with a high level of natural immunity is being targeted for forced boosters. As a RN, MSN with a background in research, the current data simply do not support your directives. Where there is risk, there must be choice.

CHRISTY BLACK (APO AE, 2022-01-24)

#685

I'm signing because all vaccine mandates for EUA deployment are illegal and will eventually be rescinded by the courts. In the meantime, irreparable harm is being done to citizens in general and our children in particular.

Bob Hiller (Arlington, 2022-01-24)

#686

It is morally and constitutionally wrong to force any individual to put a foreign substance inside his/her body and to discriminate against individuals based upon the choice to inject or not said foreign substances. Your policy is criminal and should be prosecuted in criminal courts of law. Your policy goes against the basic principals of ethical behavior in research.

Heather Clark (San Antonio , 2022-01-24)

#688

I’m signing because mandates are wrong & an action of a dictator & we do not live in a totalitarian society.

Cathy Su (Lexington , 2022-01-24)

#691

This is unconstitutional and coercion which is a 99 year felony offense. Yes you can go to jail for it…

Paula Wiseman (East Walpole, 2022-01-24)

#695

Because these policies are UNAMERICAN

Hayley Tribble (Plymouth , 2022-01-25)

#698

There is enough evidence that the vaccines have failed or waned in immunity and that natural immunity is stronger as per the latest statements of the CDC. Nobody should be forced with the prevalence of vaccine injuries.

Ian Simpson (Worcester, 2022-01-25)

#700

I don't believe that the government, schools or anyone should force a person to be vaccinated against their will.

Katia Jardim (Salem, 2022-01-25)

#704

Violates the rights of American citizens and freedom of choice.

Carrie Latulippe (Three rivers , 2022-01-25)

#709

This has gone too far...citizens of the United States have Constitutional rights and a virus does not supercede our Constitution

Leo Strangis (Whitman, 2022-01-25)

#710

The risk/benefit is not there for this age group. Vaccine injury is a real concern (myocarditis, pericarditis). Where there is risk there must be choice. We still do not know the long term affects of these vaccines. Vaccines do not work against current Omicron variant. Omicron variant is like a cold for most people. These draconian measures must stop now!

Gregory Zawie (Strongsville , 2022-01-26)

#715

My children are college age. Please don’t add this risk to the rest of what they face on a daily basis.

Rebecca Pettey (Fall River, 2022-01-26)

#716

This ridiculous nonsense has continued for far too long and needs to cease immediately.

Kevin Allen (West Springfield, 2022-01-26)

#719

Mandating the vaccine/booster-without long term studies on effects-is wrong, immoral and unconstitutional. It should be optional with full informed consent.

V Cuttita (Chatham , 2022-01-26)

#723

Stop the madness and act like the data-driven, forward-thinking university you purport to be.

James Crook (Franklin, 2022-01-27)

#725

I don’t support vaccine mandates!!!

Linda Lottermoser (Agawam, 2022-01-27)

#729

I oppose most mandates. My alma mater UMASS is an ongoing embarrassment as a leading practitioner of cancel culture. Most important my 33 year old healthy son appears to have an ongoing adverse effect to the Pfizer vaccine.

Bill Cribben (Fort Mill, South Carolina, 2022-01-28)

#731

We the people have medical freedom to decide if we want to put an experimental gene therapy drug in our bodies. We are not lab rats! My body my choice! 🇺🇸🙏🏻

Cheryl McCarthy (Revere , 2022-01-28)

#732

I am signing this because all people need freedom of choice! This should not be mandated to anyone! It is their body and their choice!

Angela MacLean (Norwood, 2022-01-29)

#735

The vaccine is causing many health problems--especially in young people. It does not stop the spread so it makes absolutely no sense to mandate it.

Laurie Black (Wareham, 2022-01-29)

Ann Cote (Granby, 2022-01-29)

AnnMarie Thomashay (Abington, 2022-01-30)

#754

I believe in medical freedom and safety of our children

Maureen Papamechail (Danvers, 2022-01-31)

#756

These mandates are an overreach my the government. Medical choices should never be forced!

Gwen Lawson (Wilmington, 2022-01-31)

#759

As an alumnus (Grad 92) I would like to encourage and support this added autonomy and space for decision making amongst students and faculty.

Andrew Griffis (Tucson, 2022-01-31)

#760

I am signing because I support BC families in asking that BC stop the mandating of the vaccine and boosters for their students. My son is looking to go to college next year in MA and we are devastated that he his being told he has to get vaccinated in order to attend a higher education school in MA. We are asking for freedom to make an individual decision for our own children.

Kerry Macca (Amston, 2022-01-31)

#761

I’m signing because these forced jabs must stop. When there is risk it must remain a choice.

Priscilla Giroux (Bellingham, 2022-01-31)

#762

Clovis jabs are evil

Bernadette MIlliken (Arlington , 2022-01-31)

I was forced vaccinated and have a vaccine injury. These mandate are everything American should not be . They don’t work , I also had covid 7 weeks after vaccinated

Clifford Clifford hedges (Marion, 2022-01-31)

#767

We are killing our children.

Sue Meaney (Beverly, 2022-01-31)

#778

There is no data to support boosting healthy vaccinated kids who have mostly had Covid.

Rebecca Wein (Devon, 2022-01-31)

#782

My body my decision !!!

Ed Kiley (West Boylston, 2022-02-01)

#783

I’m signing because it should not be mandatory. We do not know long term affects of these vaccines. Young adults in this age group are not dying of covid. It is not one size fits all as these colleges have made them.

Tara Duarte (East Taunton , 2022-02-01)

#784

I believe it’s should ones individual choice and our youth and young adults have suffered emotion. The vaccine does not stop transmission and this vaccine isn’t a one size fits all. One shouldn’t be denied an inperson, campus experience because they CHOOSE to not be vaccinated.

Shannon Lundin Lundin (Boston, 2022-02-02)

#788

My son is a UMass student!

Laura Tan (Belchertown , 2022-02-04)
