I am living in brampton for last 10 years, and paying municipal tax as a house owner.

Also paying huge income tax too, as a salaried employee.

I didn't see, any kind of improvements in the community where i live.

Also in tough inflation and prices raising situations, if we are left as it is, it is big help.

Also stop giving the tax payers money to those who don't work or pay anything back to country.

Sai Medavarap (Brampton, 2023-01-08)

No to rise property taxes

Phanindra akella (Brampton, 2023-01-08)

We are already in a era of high inflation, cost of living and wages not at par with the market. An increase in the property taxes will add to the burden on the heads. Please do NOT increase the tax.

Vijaykumar Mutyampeta (Mississauga , 2023-01-08)

Consider current interest rates home owners who bought their home recently are struggling with payments hikes. Previously monthly payments from between $5,500 to $6,000, but now they are paying amounts between $12,000 to $15,000 per month. This act is squeezing them out.

In fact, with pushing market crash, city should think of bring down tax.

Requesting to cancel the proposed 2.8% property tax increase by Peel Region and let home owners breathe from the Crisis.

Rupakala Eddula (Mississauga, 2023-01-08)

I cannot afford the increase in property taxes. Reduce the inflation first and then propose a hike.

Praveen Pataparla (Brampton, 2023-01-08)

Increasing the cost burden on families is not the right move. There is a lot of pressure with rising mortgage rates and high inflation. Common man does not have any avenues left. Federal government should reduce their spending by stopping unnecessary aid to other countries and should be pumping the same money to municipalities for their smooth functioning. Improve facilities before demanding more money from households.

Maninder Singh (Brampton, 2023-01-08)

Increase in property tax hurting residents. The increase in property tax is not fair considering the current tax we are paying and the amenities, infrastructure being available.

Anand Thonta (Brampton, 2023-01-08)

This increases is unnecessary
The contract given out by city are mostly unnecessary too
They demolish previously built good work with unnecessary new work , just to give our contacts . Really fishy business

With inflation at 7%, food prices up over 20%. You want people to line up at food banks. Why don't you reduce city hall expenses. This increase is ridiculous

Sunil Arora (Brampton , 2023-01-08)

There is no major development in infrastructure to justify this much rise in property tax , hospital waiting time is insane for populated city like brampton. Schools are overcrowded. With this inflation and increase in interest rates, this tax increase can be detrimental for families.

Shweta Patel (Brampton, 2023-01-09)

I am signing as we won’t be able to afford this increase property tax as u have already increased hydro, gas and grocery items are also almost double as compared to last year January. The major increase in interest rates for houses which is extra burden and now monthly amount increased by $700 for me and still it covers only interest amount and nothing is going towards principle.

#162

I'm signing because I am a resident of Brampton and I don't see much improvement in the city from the past 10 years. No new schools or hospitals. The medical and transit system are the worst in Brampton. No one cares for the public's safety. On top of that high inflation will force many families to move out of the city due to low affordability. In these time instead of helping the families the city wants to increase the taxes. That is unacceptable.

Susheel Sheehn (Brampton , 2023-01-10)

No reason to increase the property tax as property prices are reduced

VIPUL PATEL (Brampton, 2023-01-14)

#199

As Bank of Canada is trying to bring down the inflation by increasing the interest rates. This is only bringing down the property prices but the grocery stores are also increasing their prices and they will never bring down the prices.
Where is the balance between supply chain and demand happening?
