Petition to have Mark Lillywhite removed from office

As an elected official, you are expected to hold yourself to a higher standard, especially if you are in charge of law enforcement. Any other person who would have been in this situation would have been thrown in prison. Let’s not wait until someone gets killed by this drunken hooligan to get this man removed.

The " sheriff" of this county of st. Joseph got off of a drinking and driving a county vehicle, going in excess of 100mph hitting an unsuspecting couple. Also had 3 loaded firearms. in my book those are all felonies and fromwhat my little county has to say is it's one protecting the other. No police are help accountable for their actions. ( Which they never are) we need someone who will follow all the rules and be more interactive in the cities of st . Joseph county MI something I've never seen our current (sheriff) we need someone proactive, not someone who commits felonies and who isn't so drunk who urinates and defecates on himself because he was so intoxicated thisisnt fair to the law abiding citizens of this great county any prosecutor who tried this case should also be investigated this serious crime has been swept under the carpet please as a resident of st. Joseph county please help us law abiding citizens

Our law enforcement and government officials are elected into position and should lead by example not smack us in the face by breaking the law,the same laws they enforce on the ones who elected them

Walter Wyeth (Three rivers , 2023-04-26)

#206

There are better people for the job. What he did has gone above and beyond wrong!

Kirsten Schipper (Sturgis, 2023-04-26)

#207

Lillywhite needs to be held accountable for his actions. He's supposed to enforce the law not break it and get off with a slap on the wrist. Shame on him.

Jessica Garber (Three Rivers, 2023-04-26)

#209

I do not feel that he can carry out his duties if he cannot carry a gun.

Norma Charron (Three Rivers, 2023-04-26)

#211

Mr. Lillywhite should not get away with doing what would send the rest of us to prison. He is a dangerous drunk! And should be setting an example. Not getting a slap on the hand. This is proof that our justice system is a bad joke! He is not fit to serve.

Don Harker (Sturgis, 2023-04-26)

The courts need to treat everyone the same. If this man wasn’t an officer, he would be in prison. He deserves more than a smack on the wrist. He is so, so lucky that he didn’t kill that family.

Ashley Allred (Three Rivers, 2023-04-26)

#214

He took an oath to protect and serve. He failed his community by the choices he made. He committed crimes that he imposes on others. He should be held accountable for his actions and not be able to lead by his example.

Wing Melissa (Sturgis, 2023-04-26)

#216

I agree Mark Lillywhite has been special treatment and should not be above the law.

Sandra Horn (Sturgis , 2023-04-26)

#217

Is it has been anyone else we would still be sitting in jail.

Patricia L Hart (Sturgis, 2023-04-26)

#218

he needs to be removed. he is a disgrace to st joseph county

cynthia strayer (three rivers, 2023-04-26)

#224

I feel he is not a good roll model for us. He should have to give up more then 2 year since he is held to up hold the law higher

Samantha Jacks (Three Rivers, 2023-04-26)

#225

His sentencing was not just. He needs to resign.

jodi Johnson (Sturgis, 2023-04-26)

#228

The facts about his arrest are BEYOND extreme.
BAC .25
MPH 96+
NO headlights
High impact collision.
He's shown a complete disregard for the laws he swore to uphold.

Deborah Chrisman (Constantine , 2023-04-26)

#231

It is unfair for the preferential treatment. If he is not to be around firearms, how is he to do his job? He should have resigned on his own! How often is he going to be tested?

Victoria Stedman (Sturgis, 2023-04-26)

#233

Lillywhite should not receive special consideration for these offenses. He should be treated as any normal citizen would be and serve jail time and be convicted of at least one felony regarding the firearms.

Amy Frye (Sturgis, 2023-04-26)

#234

I feel like it’s unfair and if it was anyone else they would of gotten more time He don’t need to be in the office anymore.

Charlotte Moreno (Constantine , 2023-04-26)

#237

Lilly white needs to go, he is a bad representation of how a cop should act in our town.

Cathryn Chamberlain Roberts (Three rivers, 2023-04-26)

#240

I tried to tell everyone at the last election that Lillywhite was destroying the Sheriffs Office and he is an alcoholic that has been stopped multiple times before for drunk driving and he’s always got away with it. Time for him to go.

Gabe Weekly (Sturgis, 2023-04-26)

#245

If this has been any other person in our community they would be in jail and not have received a slap on the hand

Susan Yuska (Sturgis, 2023-04-26)

#247

Anyone else would've been punished for this. We are supposed to look up to him, he goes to the schools and preaches about drunk driving but he's no better than the people that have to sit in jail for the crimes they commit, but not this guy. I have no respect for someone like this

Ashley Allen (Constantine , 2023-04-27)

#248

He needs to be removed from office

JASON COBURN (CONSTANTINE, 2023-04-27)

#250

I’m signing this petition because Mark did not hold true to the oath that he was sworn into. Someone in his position should be held to a high standard.

Sarah Weekly (Sturgis, 2023-04-27)

#251

He should no longer be our Sheriff.

Erin Arnett (Constantine, 2023-04-27)

#254

No one is above the law including the law itself he doesn’t deserve a sleep on the wrist

Megan Stafford (Three Rivers , 2023-04-27)

#255

Any other citizen would never have a license or life because of this matter. He is a public official and eyes are him and this is a critical much needed move.

Carrie Cummings (Sturgis, 2023-04-28)

#256

As a former resident of St. Joseph county, I know that good leadership is an essential foundation for an amazing community.

Allyster Waters (Conroe, 2023-04-29)

#259

He failed to live up to the oath of office and he is not fit to be our sheriff. What he did is very disappointing to the people in this county

Jeffrey Bennett (sturgi, 2023-04-30)

#261

It's wrong! Any civilian would be in jail!! Lose license!

Tracy Callahan (Quincy, 2023-05-01)

#264

Public servants should be held accountable for their actions more than the average citizen and definitely should not be arresting people for the same crime they commit.

Kenneth Harker (Sturgis, 2023-05-03)

#266

It's the right thing

Kelsey Trushel (Sturgis, 2023-05-04)

#267

Mark Lillywhite is a criminal and should be punished accordingly

Patrick Stahl (South bend, 2023-05-04)

#269

He needs to go. As a sheriff she definitely needs to go.

Tiffany Huston (Three Rivers, 2023-05-07)

#270

Kalamazoo filed the wrong charges. This is egregious and he should be removed from office.

LisaLisa Breneman (Kalamazoo, 2023-05-13)

#272

I'm signing this petition because if a private citizen did this they would have jail time, license suspended for a year, on probation and no firearms allowed in his home, car, etc. Mark was elected to protect and serve.

Gretchen Andersen (Constantine, 2023-05-15)

#273

First of all he could have killed someone! Thank God he did not! He needs to go because of what his job is *police* he should NOT be able to arrest and ticket anyone!!! He made this choice and it was a BIG bad choice. If this was anyone else they would have probably lost their job anyways because they went to jail. A regular citizen would have way worse punishment!!

Sucks he messed up this bad but he needs to face the consequences and not a slap on the wrist.

Lauren Kruger (Three Rivers, 2023-07-07)

#277

What he does is unacceptable

M Sara Vander Jagt (Centreville , 2023-09-01)

#279

Mark Lillywhite has no integrity or morals and does not deserve to be in a position of power. Mark is an abusive, raging alcoholic and has been domestically violent to his wife and kids and deserves to be punished to fullest.

Heather Lillywhite (Three Rivers, 2023-12-04)
