2021 Pioneer Fan Attendance

We,  the undersigned, want to express to the coaches, athletic department, university/campus leaders, and regents the importance of fan attendance at football games this coming season.

One of the best ways for us to put the terrible memory of 2020's pandemic behind us is to move forward with as many "normal" activities as are safe and practical. For many reasons, we feel this includes attending Pioneer Football!

It is of utmost importance to us that as many parents, family members, and general fans of the team/game are allowed to attend games this fall as feel safe to do so. We feel that this is a personal choice to be made by each individual attendee, and we request that the option to attend games be left to attendees, without limits/restrictions.

As more and more states, businesses, and even sporting events open across the country, we want the same opportunity to be made available to fans at UW Platteville. MLB is now allowing full stadiums, NFL says it expects full stadiums this year, and the BigTen has announced that each school may follow local guidelines in allowing fan attendance this year. Wisconsin Badgers expect full stadiums this fall. On 5/25 the WIAA high school board just removed mask mandates for outdoor spring State Tournament attendees. We would like to see the UWP be consistent with all local sports attendance policy updates by lifting any restrictions and allowing full attendance.

By signing this petition, we as players, parents, and fans are expressing how important we feel it is to allow personal choice in this matter.
