Diocesan Decision

2024-03-06 17:17:15

It is with a heavy heart, much confusion, righteous anger, and a great deal of disappointment in the men and women who made this decision that we share that Bishop Pohlmeier has signed off on this email and decided to leave the current DOSA vaccine policy in place.

Please see the attached photos to view the email.

After you take some time to pray and sit with this decision, we hope you email Bishop Pohlmeier and his staff to express your disappointment. We presented them with a great deal of medical and moral information that supports parents choice regarding vaccinations. They did not even address the majority of our concerns or speak to the data we presented.

We were denied a seat at the table and to be a part of the discussion. Everything took place behind closed doors, and without offering us any feedback or information on what was discussed.

It is evident that a decision had already been made before our stories, perspectives, and research were given. Their email is poorly written and lacks any resources or references to doctrine that would help us understand this decision. Our efforts and the well-sourced information we provided were completely disregarded. A link to the deck that was sent to the bishop's office can be found here:

We are deeply disappointed in the leaders of our community for turning their backs on our children. We continue to pray that the Holy Spirit will guide our Church leaders to more virtuous judgement in the future.

Thank you all for your support. Feel free to comment or email us with any questions or feedback.

Catholic Parents for Change

Update

2023-11-20 22:13:41

I wanted to update you all with the current status of this petition. I received an email from Bishop Pohlmeier of the Diocese of St. Augustine today. He assured me that our concerns have been heard, and he is reviewing the information we provided in the letter. He has read the comments of parents and others who expressed their position in the petition, and he is gathering information from various resources right now.

Bishop Pohlmeier does not wish to make a statement at this time for me to share with you all, as there are currently no updates to a change in the policy. I know many parents are waiting with bated breath on more information because registration is quickly approaching for the '24/'25 school year.

I am confident that Bishop Pohlmeier is a faithful shepherd who is truly seeking guidance on this issue: one that must be made with a great deal of caution, discernment, and consideration.

Please continue to pray for Bishop Pohlmeier and all of those who are involved in the decision-making process regarding this very important issue. May they allow the Holy Spirit to guide them in this and all other decisions that involve our children and our diocesan community. I know in my heart that if Bishop Pohlmeier uncovers the truths of the immoral way vaccines are made, and the health risks that they often pose to our children, he will be able to make a confident and informed decision in our favor.

Please feel free to email us at catholicparentsforchange@ gmail.com with any questions.

Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving,

Laura Meehan
