Dear supporters,

I apologise for the inconveinience, but a number of you have brought to my attention that the link to the fundraising-site in our previous announcement didn't work. Sorry!

Just to make sure that it's easy for you to find the Kickstarter campaign-site and help the DNCO, here is the link again:

I apologise for the inconveinience, and I hope to see you again on our Kickstarter site!

Help us Kickstart the DNCO!

Dear Music-lover,

First of all, thank you for taking the time to sign our petition! I – and the musicians in the Danish National Chamber Orchestra – were moved by the great support. Thank you! I am writing to you because we need the help of all those who support the DNCO and want to see them survive.

A lot has happened since we handed over the 40.000 protests to the Danish Minister for Culture, but as you have no doubt heard, the minister chose to close down the orchestra from the new year.

However, a group of skilled professionals has decided to ensure a future for the DNCO outside of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation. They are Denmark’s most skilled producers, people with experience in establishing and realizing ambitious cultural projects, people with leadership experience from the music business, and finally people who can provide necessary legal and economic advice.

It is very important that the work can begin right away, which is why the Association of the Danish National Chamber Orchestra has started a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to create the necessary economic basis that will allow the DNCO toestablish itself in the new surroundings.

All contributions – small and large – are most welcome. On our campaign site, http://bit.ly/kickstartdnco you will find more information about the project and the team behind it, and you can monitor the progress of the funding.

I sincerely hope that you want to help support the orchestra. Starting today, it is up to us to ensure the future for the Danish National Chamber Orchestra.

Thank you for your support!

Best regards

Thank You!

Dear Music-afficionado,

First of all a great big thank you for taking the time to sign our petition! I – and the musicians of the Danish National Chamber Orchestra – am deeply grateful for the support and signatures that came pouring in from all over Denmark and around the world!

On October 7, the signatures were handed to Denmark’s Cultural Minister in person, and we are crossing our fingers that she will listen to us and save an important part of Denmark’s musical heritage.

We have one final request: We would like to ask you to support The Royal Swedish Navy Band, our friends in Sweden.

The Royal Swedish Navy Band, with a permanent strength of 30 is today a professional military band in Sweden. The history of military music in Karlskrona in the South of Sweden goes back to the founding of the city in 1680 when Admiralty bandsmen served on board ships of the Swedish Navy. The Royal Navy Band was founded in 1862.

On May 28, The Swedish Commander-in-Chief made a strategic decision to close down the Swedish Navy Band. Already in October 2013, the Headquarters singled out The Navy Band. The proposal to shut down the Band stirred up a huge media storm. Opinion-makers, taxpayers, bloggers and tweeters voiced a strong dislike in every possible way. Please consider helping them with your signature on http://bevarammk.se/in-english/

Once again, a big thank you for taking a stand for the Danish National Chamber Orchestra – we are crossing our fingers that the politicians will rise to the occasion and save the DNCO!

The very best, musical, regards

Malena Rønnow (petition starter)
