Alternative to Roof Replacement at 2080 Ocean

As you all know, 2080 Ocean has plans to begin construction on a new roof for the building, the budget for which has been approved.

However, there may be a better solution which should be considered as it could be a considerably better yet less expensive alternative to the conventional one proposed.

EverSeal is a new roofing technology borrowed from NASA that is in use by various large companies across the United States including FedEx, Holiday Inn and Avis Budget to name a few.  The technology in question seals the roof in a way that is both superior to and less expensive than the proposed method.  Our roof is 20 years old and would most likely need to be fixed again in 20 years if we simply replace the current roof.  EverSeal technology is a permanent solution - weather proof and strength-reinforced - and could save the HOA money for future roofing related projects, not to mention rising insurance costs of having an older roof.  This new technology also comes with a 50 year warranty of labor and materials.  The quote for EverSeal services on the roof at 2080 Ocean is up to $93,500, resulting in over 2 million dollars worth of savings from our current roof assessment.

The Board may not have had a chance to learn about EverSeal before coming to a decision, but considering the enormous benefits, it would be a grave disservice to the condo owners and the building if this technology wasn’t looked into before it is too late.

Your voice is important.  If you are interested in having the Board reconsider it’s decision and adopt the EverSeal solution to fix our roof once and for a long time to come, please sign this petition.  For more information on EverSeal, visit their website at https://everseal.com and check announcements to this petition.

By signing this petition, I urge the Board to consider the best interests of 2080 Ocean and its owners and adopt the EverSeal solution.  Should the Board choose otherwise, I am requesting detailed reasoning on the decision, including why the Board has concluded that roof replacement instead of EverSeal is in the best interests of the community.
