Building of the wall at Ieglaasi Nieyah School

Following the tragic death of our beloved Firdous Kleinsmitd (May Allah SWT grant her a high place in Jannah). There have been major concerns about the safety of the students at Ieglaasi Nieyah School. A school meeting was held at the school on 05 February 2024 where the parents and the school body were allowed to raise their concerns and discuss safety and security measures to be implemented moving forward.

Amongst the parents, many have offered ideas, free labor and even building materials to assist the school in reaching the goal of building a wall and contributing to the school's safety.

While some of the promises made by the Ieglaasi Nieyah school body have been delivered, There are still major concerns about the school's willingness to collaborate with the parents to fulfill the discussed solutions as a matter of urgency.

As gang violence in the area increases, tensions are rising the parents have been reported to have created a group communication and are in the process of formally drawing up a letter of demand for immediate action and transparency from the Ieglaasi Nieyah school body, some of the demands are as follows:

*The letter of approval from the school so that the building material can be sponsored

*Reasonable time for when the building of the wall will start and the estimated time of completion.

*Requesting visibility of law enforcement/SAPS at the start and dismissal time of the school

*Weekly parent meetings to provide transparent and accurate updates.

*An update on the investigation of the Firdous Kleinsmitd murder case

We urge all parents concerned about the safety of our kids to sign this petition to pressure the Ieglaasi Nieyah School body to take immediate action and respond to our emails, calls and verbal requests.
