Citizens Against PPII Div 8 Assisted Living Facility Poulsbo, WA

We, the undersigned, 18 years of age, or older, citizens of Poulsbo, Washington request the City Council deny approval of the proposed construction project planned for the property adjacent to and behind the United States Post Office at Iverson Road and Jensen Way.

As proposed the development Project #: 2011099.00 Master Plan Amendment issued April 21, 2015 is just too much for the small 2.2 acres.

The great height  and land coverage of the proposed buildings greatly overshadow the surrounding neighborhood. It destroys any sense of a Poulsbo Place neighborhood. It is not a good fit. The anticipated great increase in traffic around the site will severely affect the already dense traffic loads on Jensen Way, Sunset Street and NE Iverson Road. While the majority of the 134 to 137 will not drive, some percentage of the 27 Independent Living residents will. Residents will have guests on a regular basis. Up to 75 employees spread among shifts will drive their cars to work. Various delivery trucks as well as emergency vehicles can be expected regularly. The 3 businesses on site will generate more traffic. These increases in traffic when coupled with the pending 57 apartment building, a couple of blocks away, on the old City Hall property, can not be supported by the existing roadways.

To view a photo copy of a scale model of the Proposed Buildings to the North of and behind the Post Office, that is the one with the Golden Roof, depicting the major difference in height. The Post Office measures 20 feet in height.
