Declaration of intent for a more inclusive, prejudice-free World

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

DECLARATION OF INTENT

FOR A MORE INCLUSIVE, PREJUDICE-FREE WORLD

Aiming at the more effective recognition, reduction, prevention of hate-violence,

for bringing the perpetrators to justice, for a more competent victim support and monitoring,

and for a more sufficient awareness raising and cooperation.

 

The undersigned organizations and individuals announce the following Declaration of intent within the framework of Ebony African Cultural, Arts and Human Rights Organization’s project financed by the Norwegian NGO Fund; titled “Coalition against hate-violence in Hungary:

 

We dedicate ourselves to make strong efforts for the more effective recognition, reduction, prevention of hate-violence, with special emphasize on hate crimes, hate speech and discrimination, for bringing the perpetrators to justice, for a more competent victim support and monitoring, and for a more sufficient awareness raising and cooperation; together with the law enforcement and other authorities and official bodies, institutions, the media, international organizations, as well as formal and informal civilian initiatives both in Hungary and within the entire territory of the European Union.

 

Our purpose is the reduction of the society’s prejudices, that communities and the mainstream society shall become more open and inclusive, as well as that groups with protected characteristics, particularly the minority groups; with special emphasize on the Roma people, migrants and refugees should be given the chance to integrate successfully, and that their access to equal opportunities and equal treatment should be ensured.

 

We call upon all the public figures and all those who are in the position to influence public discourse to ostracize all forms of incitement of hatred and hate speech.
 

We call upon all the actors of the political life to support the realization of all the above courses by their deeds and exposures.

As the signatories of this Declaration of intent, we believe that together and in solidarity with each other we can overcome prejudices, hatred and violence and we shall be able to create a more inclusive, more peaceful, more just and livable, better World for all and the generations succeeding ours.
