because I find the opportunity unique possibility for PJJDS to - if possible - improve and enlarge and give my grandchildren better possibilities for an excellent education by having best school building facilities and because present location is far from ideal for children and parents

#2 PJJS for Tafelberg

2015-06-03 11:44

It would be a travesty if a beautiful old school like Tafelberg would become anything but a functional, beautifully renovated school once again. The classrooms need to be put to the noble use intended, the playgrounds need to be filled with excited kids voices, and the school must once again be a local hub of learning, living and loving. The last thing we need in our suburb, or our country, is for another great educational asset like Tafelberg to be torn down or distorted to make way for another office block, yuppie warren, or shopping centre. What's more, I believe that PJJS has the vision, the integrity and the attitude to bring out the best in this great neighbourhood-enriching opportunity.

tafelberg school in sea point is a beautiful building that has sadly become an eyesore ..I KNOW that if the Phylllis Jowell Day School moved to those premises it would be a huge benefit for Sea Point and the building would be turned back to its former glory!

A growing school with a committed parent and teacher body deserves space to grow! Good luck!

I am a parent who would like to enroll my daughter into the Phyllis Jowell Jewish day school where the highest values & education is taught.
I will only be able to do this once there is enough room to enroll more children.
More parents should have the opportunity to be able to send their children here. I hope that I get this opportunity.

Because the building was always a school, and is equipped as such, and here is the Phyllis Jowell Jewish Day School looking for larger premises, and the old Ellerslie Girls High School is certainly THAT ... it's big, and it has playground areas!! And it's been empty for so long!

Because I believe that moving the PJJDS to that site would constitute a brilliant use of a marvellous building with its grounds.

This is my old High School... I have fond memories and I would hate for the lovely building and surroundings to go to rack and ruin

I am happy to do so because 3 of my grandchildren go to the school and have had wonderful teaching and education there.

I was head girl of Ellerslie Girls High and would love to see the grand lady of Sea Point be fully utilised as a school once again.

I have a personal interest in the school as 3 of my grandchildren attend the Phylllis Jowell Schol and my eldest grandchild finishes this year and has to find another school as she is. In the last grade.
They need another follow up school.

Even no I lived outside of Sea point (and I'm Catholic) most of my friends were Jewish and I love the idea of the old Ellerslie building being used as a Jewish school. I couldn't think of a better place for them to call home. I will be so happy when they are in their new school.
