We need to encourage more activity in the general population. We do not need more housing in an already over populated area.

Sporting facilities are essential for for children green facilities in this area are disappearing and it's wrong. There are many brownfield opportunities nearby. Leave our green space alone

The fields are an important part of village life. Schools and clubs use the fields regularly and need them. No to development as it will cause more traffic congestion and parking problems. The village is busy enough.

HELLO PEOPLE - dont be led up the garden path!!!  This petition is based on a false premise set up by minority interest groups.  Before signing it please go to Nonsuchabbeyfield.org and see what two charities and a community sports organisation are ACTUALLY proposing as the best future for this land.  Their proposals REALLY sale the fields from developers.

I spent my childhood playing here. If we keep building on every piece of green land the children of the future will have no choice but to sit in front of the tv or computer increasing their health problems and we will be surrounded by a concrete jungle encouraging more crime.

#6: -  The Epsom Sports Club is not profit making. A large number of local children benefit from the sports coaching it provides and even more could potentially benefit under this proposal.

Agree. The campaign has distorted the truth. The parties involved area LOCAL voluntary sports club and charity.

#94 Ewell village playig fields

2015-10-24 09:10

In Ewell Village these playing fields have been a very useful feature for generations. An asset for younger generations and for others a wholesome way to make a contribution to the local community by coaching and getting involve in arminstration of such facilities etc., volunterily. Behind Wocester Park railway station there is a playing field, and in Summers evenings to home-bound commuters from London it gives a welcoming effect seeing youngsters going through their paces in various activities. At a time when Obesity is becoming a big concern of the society in general, removing this facility at Old School Lane with bricks and motar is going to be  highly irresponsible piece of corporate greed! Ewell Village contains lot of historical significance and for the benefit of future generations, it should remain that way!Hence I have placed my signature to this petition. May the goodness in the Village prevail!

My Grandchildren are pupils at St Clements R.C Primary school and I believe that the added traffic can only be dangerous and detrimental to the area. The children have a very small playground and if they have an event such as sports day or firework night they need a local playing field to access. There has already been a lot of building in the area (Priory Court) and it will cause huge congestion.

The fields can be saved in perpetuity and in their entirety.  Why not then put down an artificial pitch without the loss of the other area to buildings>  No need to sell off part of the fields.  Epsom Sports club and Old Salesians would both be happy.

The real deal

#83: MP - BEWARE JUDGING BASED ON HALF THE TRUTH

No false premise, and 'all that glitters is ...'!  Two local schools - one also a registerd charity, and two local sports clubs previously playing a broad range of sports can hardly be descibed as minority interest groups. The charity being established - Ewell Sports & Leisure, are proposing a REAL alternative that doesn't require any building on the Strategic Open Space, nor increase in vehicle traffic nor ...!  Why should we be threatened in such a way with apparent riches?  We don't need a 'shiny' new pavilion and all the roadways and hard standing taking up grass areas. There are other sites to develop a care facility and ES&L also plan an artificial pitch.  (ps. E&E HS are also establishing more artificial pitches for the community.)  Be strong and protect our village, our environment.

Furious that this council may give away another place that our children play on. Leave the grass for sports
