Because I'm sick of the RTE crowd taking our money in license fees and then thinking they have a right to dictate to us all while they do not do the job they are required to do, ie public broadcasting. Overpaid idiots.

It's a tradition in Ireland why do we keep having to worry about keeping other religions happy
They don't change their traditions for us

It's part of our traditions. I've been to Muslim countries and love listening to the call to prayer. I'm not intimidated by it and it's a tradition in their country and wouldn't dream to try and get it removed. Soon we won't be able to ring a church bell!

It's part of our heritage whether you are religious or not.. It's a tradition carried on from my parents and grandparents to bless yourself

I believe we all need a quiet moment in our day to just be still. I also strongly object to the removal of the Angelus from tv why are we so adverse to prayer.

Because it's part of what we are
We grew up with it

I am living in England but I believe the Angeles is an important irish tradition. My parents and grandparents all originated from Ireland.

There's people who like the angelas, so it should stay. Its part of our heritage so we shouldn't change it to suit people who asked can they be part of our country.

The Angelus was a part of my childhood, we always said the prayer and now I really like the sound, as it marks a time to take a moment and be present & to think of things I am grateful for every day. It is part of who we are, why do we throw away our heritage so easily and call it progress. How can we keep including others at a cost of always excluding ourselves!

Because I believe it's only fitting for a country to preserve it's traditions and heritage and not look back with remorse at the loss of it's past

A handful of people in Montrose should not have the power to tell Irish people what to hold sacred... bearing in mind that is the TV licence payer who is keeping them in a job! !

I signed the petition because I see this as another attack on our Catholic Church by the media. and other groups
We are told we live in a multicultural multi faith society and it would cause offense..
Offense to who ??
Athestists?
We all have rights I am standing up for our Catholic Church ..Crosses removed from hospitals and other public places .
We have stood by and let it happen well not anymore
Enough is enough ..
I will support every effort to keep the Angelus

The Angelus is a very important prayer and we need all the prayers we can get.

I feel that Ireland has become very secularised and I want to stand up for my right as a Catholic to see my faith being supported rather than denigrated and the Angelus has been part of our lives for so long .
