I fully agree with each and every word written on this petition. What is happening now is a disgrace to the profession we are suppose to have driving licences but we can't even get subsidy cars. What's 359 for danger allowance compared to my life meaning I'm worth that much within the Department

It is sad that will the nature of the work we deal with on a daily basis no one seems to appreciate or acknowledge what we do.our salaries are very low compare to what we do.we invest in the lives of all people but no one is investing in our own lives.

It is true that our salary is very low compared to other professions. We spent four years studying and the salary could not meet the needs of life. Not mentioning the dangers we encounter when tracing and conducting home visits.

Our profession is not taken seriously as other helping professions. This petition will help us towards making our voices heard and restoring the fire that was fading away in social workers already in practice.

I have been in the field for 10 years and earn the same as an admin clerk. I have no medical aid and cannot afford a pension. I have been highjacked at gunpoint while out in the field and received no trauma counselling from the organisation. I have also had a smash and grab and survived another attempted highjacking. social workers are underpaid and not considered as professionals. We do work that is high risk and very stressful, he;ping people that no-one else can or will and yet receive no support or and very poor remunaration for our work. This HAS to change.

Level 7 its a disgrace to a social worker who did a four year course. Adjustments must be done. Safety - most social workers are not safe no security guards we are at risks with violent clients we are working with.

Its long overdue and if we don't take action for our proffession its dying a slow death. That is why our colleagues from social dev are expected to deliver groceries to hungry pple, something that can be done by any lay person. Let's fight for our profession before its too late

I am social worker with 7 years experience working for an NGO. I love and enjoy helping people help themselves. It is really sad that because of the salary I am earning I cant afford to apply for a bond to own my own home nor give my children a good life, for that to happen I would have to move to another province possibly leave them behind with my parents... I have no benefits at work. Its really not fair.

#1: -

I signed because I believe that every social worker n SAW working for the dsd founded NGO should be paid the same salary as that of the social worker n SAW employed by the department. I also signed because I think is better for the department to stop funding NGO and hire people with the money they use for funding. I also signed cause I want to see all unemployed social workers n SAW out there employed. Thank you

I find social worker proffession demotivating interms of the salary while you have to study for 4years
