More weight should be given to local opinion and critiques of proposed schemes which may negatively impact existing local services and residents.

Why doesn't it collect street name to confirm names collected live in the area?

A high density commercial development of any nature would attract even more vagrants and criminal elements to this lovely old residential suburb , which already has problems of service delivery problems with regard to water , electricty and refuse removal .The traffic and parking problems are already at high levels of chaos and disorder .

We are grateful to all those who are challenging the issues that are spoiling Parktown North which has always been a superb place to live.

Develping this site will increase density to beyond what is good for the area and reduce the already scares parking.

Please allow for intelligent development i.e. an UPGRADE OF THE PARKINgG AREA TO MAKE IT A SAFE AND CLEAN PLACE. This would benefit all.

there is already traffic congestion and parking problems with the restaurants in the area not providing on site parking. A high density development will not only take away the existing parking on this site but increase the problem.

Most people have entered "Johannesburg" instead of "Parktown North". To an official it may seem that Parktown North residents are disinterested in their own suburb. I would suggest that everyone who is a resident edits their entry to state "Parktown North" so that the petition is more effective.

My grandparents owned property and lived on the opposite corner from +- 1919, and four generations of my family have lived here. Thus I support the community's efforts to upgrade and clean up this area, both for the present residents and the business owners, as well as a sense of ownership. A zero tolerance approach to the degrading of urban areas has been proven in other areas, eg the City Improvement Districts in Cape Town.

I live and run my offices from Parktown north. We are already battling with traffic, noise and increased crime in our area. More parking is desperately needed with all the trail development as it is. no more retail development should be allowed.

It is already almost impossible to travell on these roads during peak traffic due to the already busy area, this will add at least an extra 30min travel time per day to my normal route

I have lived in Parktown North since 1960 and I believe this to be an abominable plan. Definitely NO NO NO!

a community based village green is a great idea. it will enhance the life n parktown north far more than another apartment block especially with zoo lake being a no-go zone for families over the weekend

Fully endorse this attempt to regenerate the zone, neglected by the council!

Having trawled through the comments, I am reluctantly persuaded that a limited development (low rise) be permitted and formalising the car parking into a secure area, free of vagrants & car guards.

As someone pointed out, the paid parking on the Woolies side is probably the solution.

A great initiative.

The roads in the area are completely clogged with a high accident rate. A better prevailing sense of calm needs to be introduced with safe parking

I totally agree with what the petition is about. Its self explanatory.

Need to work with the community rather then rely on JPC who are a bunch of thugs that throw tenders to connected ANC cadres eg Zoo lake
