Long overdue, at some point the department has to come in to the 21st Century....

Isn't it time to have tools available to protect those who save the lives of others?

First responders can't save citizens if they can't be saved!

I am a Chicago Police Officer on Duty Disability. I sustained a heart attack in 2004. I am one of the lucky ones! I am still here! Sadly.....there are so many who were not as fortunate. This petition is so important. Please sign it.

Thank you for posting and you are absolutely right, thank God St. Michael was with you that day.  For lack of a better expression take it easy and enjoy the retirement, you have more than earned it.

#11 Help the Chicago Police Officers and Firefighters!

I was shocked to get this petition, assuming that this would have been a staple- to all public servant facilities. These officers and firefighters put their lives on the line, every day. You would tend to think that upon their safe return to the santions of their home bases, some added mental peace of mind, would not only be encouraged- but demanded so. These fine men, brothers as they call themselves, have seen one another fall, either on the job, or off. I cannot imagine, if equipment so readialy available, were not present nor provided to them if the need came. One of "their own", may fall to the floor, and one guided jolt could mean the differnce between life and death. Do not allow us to let this issue go by quietly- SCREAM and SHOUT, for the men who serve and protect us all!

It's appalling that AED use has not yet been instituted for the CFD & CPD!

First Responders need first responder AEDs,
otherwise they might not be able to respond to help YOU!

I am e retired ER nurse with 42 years on the job and theses are as essential as smoke detectors that the good city of chicago gives away!!! It is a travesty that there are not already in place. If it saves only 1 life they are worth it! Maggie Daley has her park lets provide life saving equipment for Chicagos warriors. Bad enough what they deal with on a daily basis can't we keep them a little safer? Let's bring Jane Byrne back she gave CPD officers vests!

My son works for the City of Chicago police dept. his father retired from the dept. police are under a lot of stress many times and it's one way to show you care by providing these and any other life saving equipment, it's the least you can do to show you care and show appreciation for the good job police do..
