/ #16 SOLIDARITY WITH THE BAHRAINI FREEDOM-FIGHTERS!

2011-03-29 23:39

We are a few dozen workers, students and retired teachers in SE London. We wish to express our warm and admiring solidarity to the courageous protesters of Bahrain - who are an inspiration to us all - in the face of the barbaric atrocities by the Despot-Khalifa-gangsters, their US, UK & EU Armourers & Oil-profiteers and the now effectively occupying Military Dictators of Saudi Arabia - ALL armed with US, UK and EU weapons - always intended to turn against their own people.
We hope the protesters can maintain their heroic struggle against these vile atrocities by the ruling capitalist classes. Your struggle - like those of the workers of Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, now Syria and other places as far as Mauritania and Djibouti and Yemen, Iraq and Morocco is not somethign separate from us here in the West. Hundreds of millions of EU and North American workeres are facing 'the severest cuts in public services-spending since 1922' [Financial Times) - and we are beginning to organise OUR fight-back too. In Madison, USA, over 70,000 workers occupied the Wisconsin State Capital HQ, and that inspired similar demos of workers in 50 US states earlier in March. John Stavrelli, one of the workers who initiated the protest was asked: 'Where did you get the idea for occupying the Capitol?' 'The Egyptian workers showed us' he said. The actions of the workers of North Africa and the Middle-East have inspired new protests worldwide - in places where other people live under the terror of comparable despots. In China there were coordinated demonstrations in several cities just after the Egyptian revolution began - and this even spread to the two northern-most provinces of North Korea. Most of our students - and workers here are from all over the world and are following your struggle with considerable interest. In Zimbabwe, 52 of our comrades were recently arrested, beaten and tortured and abused by the Despot Mugabe who is trying to put 6 of them on trial for their lives - for watching a video of Egypt - and discussing it! The whole WORLD is 'discussing it'! Despots, Bankers, Bosses and their military gangsters all over the world are panicking and lashing out with the only 'solution' they have - more terror, more murder. The people of Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Bahrain and elswhere in the region are showing these cowardly murderers that they can, and do, murder ordinary men and women, but they can never murder what is now spreading like a Saharan sand-storm across continents - hope, belief in change, proof that ordinary people can overthrow despots, gangsters, thieves, Bankers, Bosses, treacherous Bureaucrats and their well-paid apologists in the lying Media and press.
The Saudi murder-machine - created by the UK government of every mainstream political party in Britain's corrupt Parliament by the Al-Yamamah Arms Contract worth £tens of Billions - was sent into Bahrain by its immediate boss - the Butcher King Saud's family of work-shy idle parasites and pimps - but also by its No.1 & 2 Sponsors - OBama and Cameron, political puppets of the US and UK rich. But it is not a seamless monolith that cannot be cracked and beaten. In the last 2 months - inspired by North African revolution, there have been at least 3 major (victorious) mass strikes on prestige constructin projects in Saudi Arabia (including the King Saud University site) where tens of thousands of workers physically beat back the police and won their demands. They were emboldened to this by not only the revolutions in North Africa, but the beginning of protests in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
You Bahraini Freedom-Fighters are by no means alone - and at the heart of brutal monster that has invaded Bahrain - is a hated, rotten, corrupt, inhuman regime that treats the majority in Saudi Arabia almost like animals. We all feel history can move far, far too slowly, but workers and protesters like you are kicking it forward - and this is only a beginning. The vision, the hope, the real proof of what we - the working-majority can do - in Tunisia and Egypt for example has been transported around the world, as never before, by workers' uploaded mobile-phone-videos, blogs, twitter/tweet, emails and websites. These are only media - nothing more. But what they have carried is now fixed, welded, rivetted to the history of the 21st century and to the memory of every living generation.
The despots can - for a time - hold back the protests, the momentum of our movements and revolutions - but not for ever. The anger of millions in Saudi Arabia has begun to boil over and hope has been re-born there too. Nothing stands still. The greed and brutality of Saud, Khalifa, CAmeron, Obama and their class of parasites and butchers forces them to constantly try to change - tighten their grip on our lives, because they are in a manic global competition for profit, productivity, markets, resources with the rising capitalist-classes of China, Brazil, Russia and India (or 'BRIC' as they are called) whose growth rates are far ahead of the west's. Capitalism is not a rational system. Its own rulers have no 'rationale' except to obey the laws of global competition and they overreach, and hesitate, or retreat at times when finding themselves squeezed between the blades of the global competitors - and furious, revolt from their own people. All 'wars', and this is a form of war - between the rich tiny minority of parasites and the vast working productive majority - all such wars have advances and retreats - as each side searches for more effective strategy and tactics. The war has begun, the search for that strategy and those tactics has begun. Many, Many more millions are preparing, thinking, organising to join battle - on your side - in dozens of coutries - like Britain, the US, the EU which directly impacts upon what these countries do in relation to the Butchering Despots they sponsor and arm in your countries of AFrica and the Arab Middle-East.
We can only admire, in awe, your courage, self-sacrifice, self-discipline from where we are here. But we hope you can hold on, maintain whatever level of struggle, organisation you have already won - use even a time of retreat to reflect, harden your strategy, re-group with fresh forces - especially the working-class that produces almost half of Bahrain's GDP in oil alone - analyse your tactics, create new ones, study past struggles - from online sources on revolutions and revolts - learning what worked well - and what didn't. Notice how very important to your struggle at home - is the links you make with workers in the countries immediately next to you. This is NOT a 'national' struggle on its own! Of course, you must unite your million people to defeat and physically eliminate the vile Khalifa cowards and murderers - all of us must do that to our OWN 'national' ruling-parasitic minority. But THEY operate across borders all the time. Bahrain cannot remain a prison for its people for another day - without the support of the bigger bullies in Saudi Arabia and Washington/the White House. But each has a powerful working-class - and both those sleepy giants have begun to awake, stir and act. One has the power to interrupt or even shut down the world's biggest oil supplier upon which MOST of the entire working of almost ALL of western capitalism - depends every day - 24/7! The oil workers have global power! The other - the US working-class of 150 million - can stop the world's largest economy on which most other economies depend. And those workers are being attacked - right now - to make them - like us - pay for the world crisis caused by billionaire bosses' and Bankers' greed and corruption. Please understand - you are NOT alone and your struggle goes FAR beyond the 'national'. WE hope you soon hang the Khalifa-Criminals and the Psycho-Saudi-Generals from the barrels of their own US- and UK-made Tanks - and show it worldwide on youtube! WE cannot do for you - what only you can do. The best we can do here - is to make OUR revolt as massive, powerful and world-shaking - as you are already doing with yours, to 'OPen the Second Front' against our common enemy - the US, UK, EU and their sponsored Despots across the world, of which the Khalifa-Criminals are one gang.
You are reminding us, as we go into battle, with your battle-cries - 'Shia and Sunni - as ONE!' that unity is our first and greatest weapon. That also applies across borders and continents too.
I write on behalf of a few dozen of our students here, but also with what we took part in on Saturday in London - the biggest mass demonstration of Workers - in the whole of British History - half a million marched - a massive display of our potential power. We too have many obstacles - above all - our TU leaders (who are not workers! - They are bureaucrats who make a handsome, very affluent, easy, idle life for themselves, by acting as 'brokers'/'dealers' wheeling-and-dealing - selling - our jobs, our wage-levels [millions are 'frozen' now prices go up here)- merchants in the skins, sweat, dignity and rights of 30 million workers, 6.7m of whom pay for their £120,000 salaries, limousines, chauffeurs and '2nd homes'! Yes, we have many, if different problems too. We have to fight our way through all these, and already these treacherous bureaucrats have already quietly 'sold' nearly 200,000 workers' jobs - which they could have saved. A different kind of coward and parasite to what you face. And we have a 'left' who act as prancing, dancing 'Cheer-leaders' with brightly coloured pom-poms to fool and distract our workers and their families by parrotting 'trust the bureaucrats, trust the bureaucrats - do nothing, do nothing!' But our demonstration - of half a million workers - showed in their discussions and organising - among themselves - that some are seeing this vile betrayal and trick by the Bureaucrats and their 'left-wing' pom-pom prancers - because to the worker, his or her job is the difference between a passable life - and destitution even here. More and more workers are realising - the fine words of bureaucrats, middle-class 'do-gooders' and people who pretend to be 'left', 'radical' - have remained nothing but words ...for months. And the 'axe' of job-cuts swings nearer by the day. That threat changes old acceptances, sharpens us to get on with the business of - organising and acting ourselves, as you are. It is only self-active, self-mobilised hundreds of thousands that got rid of Ben-Ali and Mubarak. No other force in history can substitute for that - never believe anyone who tells you that cheap lie. 'Trust me, go home, leave it to me.' We call them 'wind-bags' - for they are of no use - except to fool people.
Your struggle demands more of your people already. Ours will do so soon. We think of you and speak of your heroes and heroines often. You are not alone. For we all have no choice now but to fight. Our enemies force more and more new fresh people to our side - by their very barbarism. EVeryone has anxiety, concern - but also a burning, rising, boiling anger.
A retreat - a lull - is a time to talk and involve new people, make all organisation more solid, identify what is your enemy's greatest dependency, weakness, and what forces on our/your side can best exploit. In your region - that is first of all: OIL! The 1st dependency of all capitalism is profit, physical materials/resources/energy - and the labour which is inseparable from ALL of those. Workers are also very numerous - 2.4bn in the world. But they have a unique potential power that no other class or layer has in society: they can stop or start - capitalism itself. Teh repression means that workers in one country cannot necessarily simply do that. It requires cross-border organisation. You will find very sympathetic ears from Egypt, to Libya, to Eastern Saudi Arabia - among not only Oil-workers but those in many industries related to Oil - shipping, pipelines, pumps, - every single thing that moves in, for and under capitalism only moves because a worker moves it, knows how to move it, is there - disciplined - for certain hours and shifts to do so. On THAT the whole of capitalism depends. Without it - as Greek industry found out a dozen times this last year - the whole country stops. Greece is not a major energy producer at all. ALMOST ALL of your region IS! Other workers have this power too - but the Oil-related workers - and there are millions of them - not just in Bahrain, but near and around it - have an even more immense strategic power. It's never been fully 'exercised' before. Now is the time.
In complete sympathy, active solidarity and struggle, Your brother, comrade and friend, G Jones.
One Solution - Revolution! The workers, united - can never be defeated! Victory to the Brave Bahraini Freedom-Fighters!
