HUD options in Mafia: Definitive Edition

Dear Hangar 13,

we are very much looking forward to the release of Mafia: Definitive Edition in 25th, September and we can´t wait to play it!

There is one thing, though. We are afraid of the HUD issue. In the preview version, there was no possibility to turn any of its part off, and we just don´t know, if the final version is gonna be any different.

Many of us don´t want to look at the lozenge marker in the middle of the screen marking the destination, the minimap and map are more than enough. We don´t want to be permanently looking at the quest task, we can manage to remember it for several minutes. We don´t want large letter hint in the middle of the screen telling us what button to push. We don´t need a large icon hanging above the ammunition. We don´t need be constantly looking at the information which button to use when wanting to turn off/on the speed limiter. We don´t want to be looking at the lozenge icon above head of Paulie, we know, who it is and we understand we are supposed to follow him. We also are capable of understanding, that we are chasing the yellow vehicle, no need to put an icon above it. We understand that when we fire from a weapon, we need to reload it from time to time.

There are more examples, but we are sure you get the gist. One thing is that this appoarch to players is extremely insulting. And what´s even worse, it perfectly ruins the overall atmosphere. And that would really be a shame!

The only thing we are asking for, is this: Please give us the choice what we want to see on the screen and what we do not - in the terms of HUD. It won´t take too much effort and we will be eternily grateful to you. And while you´re at it, could you please also make the subtitles´size adjustable so we can comfortably read them even on consoles, not just PC?

Thank you very much!

Sincerely,

your devoted fans.
