Hurst Park Uniform

We would like to propose a change to the Hurst Park School uniform for the following reasons:

  • Cost - a lot of parents find it difficult to afford the unform with (non-logo) jumpers currently costing £17 and losses of uniform a constant issue.
  • SEN - many children find it uncomformtable and too restrictive to wear ties, stiff shirts with tight collars and polo shirts/PE t-shirts with logos that have scratchy backing next to very sensitive skin.

Our proposal is to have:

  • Printed logo polo shirts to be worn all year round
  • Stitched logo sweatshirts to be worn all year round for general school and double up for PE
  • Printed logo PE t-shirts
  • Standard shorts and joggers
  • Skirts/trousers/pinafores for winter
  • Shorts/skirts/pinafores/summer dresses for summer

This would remove the need for jumpers, cardigans, two types of shirt (winter/summer) and ties. It would also reduce the cost of polo shirts and PE t-shirts. Trousers/shorts/skirts/pinafores and summer dresses can all be bought from high street stores.

Please sign this petition, even if your child is leaving the school, so that families on low incomes or families with children who have sensory issues can send their children to school smart AND happy.

Thank you.
