Kiddy Kitchen

To all parents and Grandparents of pontypridd,

for those that don't know me my name is jordan wellman, I am looking to set up a kiddies cookery school in the Pontypridd area, although I may not be a trained chef, I am a keen cook and am good at it, even if I do say so myself.

In todays society with the endless amount of fast food chains, and take aways dominating every street corner in the UK, the children of today cant help but crave these high in fat, sugary delights, but I am here to change that.

Little Munchers aims to provide children with a fun, relaxing and educational experience, for them to learn not only how to cook but the importance of healthy eating. Our goal is to inspire the next generation how cooking can be enjoyable, yet rewarding. I grew up with little involvement in the kitchen, like every child the only time I experienced cooking was baking cakes with mum, and don't all parents acknowledge the smiles on their children's faces when they are baking, licking the mixture off the spoon, getting messy and having fun, then to be proud of the cakes they made. I had to learn to cook off my own back pretty much, but how I would have loved to go to a cookery club when I was younger.

Today the lifestyle of a child has changed dramatically, with fewer children taking part in activities after school, however sports clubs are not for everyone. My goal is to build the confidence of our children so that they will taste new foods and have a hand in their creation. My goal is to help children recognize what it means to eat real food, grown by real farmers. My goal is to encourage families to applaud their children’s efforts to be involved in their food choices…and listen when the kids ask them to consider the environment when they shop

I will be looking to work with the local community, providing my classes for primary schools, scouts, brownies, guides, cubs, churches, youth clubs and not forgetting the local mums and dads.

Although this is currently at the ideas stage, I am committed to this project, and am willing to put in the hard work needed to provide this service for the local community.

I am simply looking for support from the parents and grandparents of the local area, this task will be of hard work and determination. I would kindly ask if you would leave some feedback on this group as to what you think of the idea and whether this is something you would encourage your children to participate in.

Come on people, who would like their kids to be able to cook?

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you can support me.
