Maintain 'Remembrance Week in London' for and by our Dutch brothers in arms

Since 1979, the Bond van Wapenbroeders (BvW), the Dutch veteran association of brothers in arms has been present around and on Remembrance Sunday in London to commemorate our brothers in arms, comrades and loved ones. This honorable and unique tradition will disappear if the Board of the BvW adopts the proposal to stop their financial contribution in accordance with the report ‘Toekomstvisie’, Future Vision.

We

Members, donors and friends of the Bond van Wapenbroeders

notice

  • that the Board of the BvW wants to withdraw their financial contribution to Remembrance Week from 2024 and onwards;
  • that, for example, wreaths and pastors of memorial services in the RAF church St Clement Danes, on the Netherlands Field of Honor on Mill Hill Cemetry and at the Cenotaph will no longer be funded;
  • that participants have always payed their own travel and accommodation costs; are true ambassadors for the BvW and have been creating international fame for 44 years through BBC recordings worldwide at the Cenotaph Parade.

and request

the Board of the Bond van Wapenbroeders to continue their financial contribution to the commemorations on and around Remembrance Sunday in London, whereby we can continue to commemorate and honor our fallen Dutch brothers in arms and all others who lost their lives during wars and conflicts.

Lest we forget!
