MAKE JAN VAN RIEBEECK SPORTS GROUNDS MOSSEL BAY AVAILABLE FOR FOOTBALL

After numerous attempts, trying to obtain an opportunity to train football/soccer long term at Jan van Riebeeck Stadium Mossel bay, without success, we are asking parents, Mossel bay residents and anyone who agrees, to sign this petition to prove the unfairness of allowing certain sports on certain fields and others not.

The Jan Van Riebeeck stadium's 8 fields, situated in the upper central part of town, is a therapeutic space to be allocated to all different sport types without prejudice. They are maintained and paid for by the money of tax payers.

Unfortunately, those grounds are only contracted to some sport organizations such as cricket, athletics, hockey and rugby. There is no field allocated to football despite the fact that the C field is already equipped with football (multipurpose) goalposts.

Yule Football School is a small local business, paying tax to the government with taxpaying parents, living in and around Mossel bay. We employ youth that invests their time to coaching and mentoring local young boys and girls.

The founder is French and the football school has brought aide from organizations in France (https://www.mosselbayadvertiser.com/Sport/Article/Football/french-npo-provides-kit-201911190142) to the local schools, other football clubs and community. For example the school has provided full underprivileged teams with kits and shoes to encourage sport and keep kids away from drugs, gangs and violence.

The Football School has not been able to obtain a contract, as the contracts are "full". Is football not welcome in that part of town? Does our municipality classify football as a location sport only? 

We want the municipality to realize that football should be accessible to all the children of Mossel bay, as it can and will be beneficial to our society... Can we count on your support to sign this petition?
