Off Leash Area for Dogs in Hermanus

Hermanus is a beautiful coastal town filled with an abundance of dogs related to the relaxed lifestyle of the Overberg, over the years Hermanus has become a prime holiday destination, with that comes dogs...The Overberg municipality has chosen to focus their energy on the wrong cause, instead of focusing on the violent and more and more frequent muggings on the mountain and littering on Grotto beach over the holidays they have chosen to spend all their time and energy on the dog policies of the Overberg instead of issues and REAL criminal activities that affect the tourism industry of the town. Any one that owns a dog knows the risks involved of caring for an animal. Conflict will happen, as it does in humanity as well, not all personalities will match, however, having a dog - you take the pledge to deal with confrontation when the situation arises. It's absolutely ABSURD that there is nowhere where dogs can socialize and explore nature off leash. Dogs have given many humans second chances of life, they are to the core happy souls and to not give them the freedom to roam around and experience the beauty that the Overberg has to offer is a crime. We are not asking for the district , but be fair and offer us at least a section of the mountain and beach (even at a stipulated time), where man's best friend can have a well deserved time off.
