PETITION OPPOSING THE LEASE OF De BEERS SKILPADSAAL in Kimberley FOR USE AS A SURGICAL FACTORY & WAREHOUSE

We , the undersigned concerned citizens, hereby object to Sol Plaatje Municipality leasing the Skilpadsaal at De Beers Stadium for use as a surgical factory and warehouse for reasons mentioned below:
 De Beers stadium  and its amenities(Skilpadsaal) is intended and zoned as a public recreational facility.
 There are no other nearby all weather venues suitable for playing sports on the recently renovated and upgraded astro turf.
 The community of Kimberley needs more sports facilities in close proximity to their residential dwellings to promote youth development & counter delinquency.
 Various schools , sports clubs and the general public regularly use the facility for sports and recreational purposes .
 We urge our leaders to retain Skilpadsaal as a sports hall. Deadline Friday 14hoo Feb 10th 2023 @ Civic Offices KBY
