Petition to continue the processing of LSI papers and Travel Authority

We, the LSI’s in Cebu City, raise our petition to continue the processing of our Travel Authority (TA’s) and other LSI papers. 

The Department of Interior and Local Government recently suspended the operation of the Balik Probinsya Program leaving our fellow Leyteños helpless, jobless and financially challenged.

Some of us doesn’t have work already due to the community quarantine protocols and some are just visiting Cebu stuck since March 16, 2020.

We understand that the local officials requested to suspend the operation of the Balik Probinsya Program due to escalating Covid-19 cases in Leyte. Yet, they did not do anything to lessen or ease the situation of our fellow Leyteños who are still in Cebu.

We cannot rely only to our respective baranggays here in Cebu because some baranggays took so long to process our papers.

We are also requesting for financial assistance and/or program that would cater the needs of our fellow Leyteños.

We need people from the different LGU’s of Leyte to work together to form a program that would cater our needs and consistently work on our LSI papers and TA’s since our respective baranggays did not take our LSI papers seriously.

Also, to help lessen the increasing Covid-19 cases in Leyte, we suggest that the program requested above would pick us from our respective baranggays and bring us to a facility wherein we are taken care of, quarantined, and have us tested for Covid-19 for FREE before sending us to Leyte. This way, not only would it stop the increasing Covid-19 cases, it is also time saving. We believe that the longer we stay here, the higher chances we get the Corona Virus and prolong our agony.
