Petition to Remove Ward Councillor Vino Reddy for Failing Sunninghill Residents
To: The City of Johannesburg, Relevant Municipal Authorities, and Political Party Leadership
We, the residents of Sunninghill, urgently call for the removal of our ward councillor, Vino Reddy, due to continuous neglect of service delivery responsibilities.
The Problem: Lack of Action & Service Delivery Failures
Our community has suffered repeated power outages, infrastructure neglect, and poor municipal service delivery, yet our councillor has been completely unresponsive and ineffective in addressing these issues. Despite numerous complaints and attempts to engage with him, we have received no real solutions, action, or even clear communication.
Examples of Failed Service Delivery
• Frequent Power Outages: We have faced prolonged power outages beyond scheduled load shedding, with no support or intervention from our councillor. Residents are left in the dark—literally and figuratively—without updates or accountability.
• Poor Communication & Responsiveness: Multiple attempts to contact our councillor via email, social media, and direct community meetings have either gone unanswered or resulted in vague responses with no follow-up.
• Neglect of Critical Issues: Beyond electricity problems, we have seen little to no action regarding road maintenance, water supply disruptions, and general municipal service failures in our area.
What We Demand
1. Immediate action from municipal leadership to address these service failures.
2. Removal of Vino Reddy as ward councillor due to his failure to serve the community effectively.
3. A new councillor who is proactive, responsive, and committed to delivering on their responsibilities.
4. Regular updates and transparent communication on power, infrastructure, and other municipal concerns affecting our daily lives.
