PLEASE SIGN THE DA PETITION CALLING ON PARLIAMENT'S PORTFOLIO COMMITTEE ON POLICE TO INVESTIGATE THE RAGING VIOLENT CRIME IN THE EDENVALE SAPS POLICE PRECIENT.

Edenvale residents and businesses are being targeted daily by criminals!

The recent defunding of our police by a staggering R5 850 139 billion has meant that lack of visible policing, police intel and resources has left our communities and businesses even more vulnerable and exposed to shocking increases in the level of crime.

The most recent crime statistics have revealed increases of

  • Common Robbery up by 33%
  • Truck hi-jacking up by 33,3%

Edenvale ranked at number 29, among the worst 30 Police Stations in the Country for the crime of Robbery at Residential Premises - your Homes

Currently, sector policing across Edenvale is in dire crisis, with the Edenvale Police Station only having two vehicles – a shortage of 75%, in addition, a minimum of 64 sector police are needed and we only have 24. In addition, the Minister plays with the lives of Edenvale citizens with short-term station commander appointments leading to a lack of management continuity and stability.

Enough is Enough!

Send a strong and clear message to the Minister of Police that we will not tolerate the defunding of the police and that Edenvale deserves its fair share of sector policing.

The DA calls on the Portfolio Committee on Police to urgently investigate the lack of sector police officers and vehicles, which is contributing to the raging crime rate. Please sign our petition to show your support.
