Postpone graduation instead of canceling

As seniors in high school we have worked so hard in order to graduate. We have put in hours of homework and studying for 12 years. We have cried over bad grades and worked harder to get to where we are now. We hope that when graduation rolls around we will all be able to walk across that stage we've worked so hard to get to. All we are asking for is that you consider postponing our graduation instead of sending our diplomas through the mail, or having us come to our schools in order to pick them up. We want one last memory with our closest friends before we have to face the real world head on. We are missing our senior proms, senior nights, sports teams, supporting our peers and friends, the last few months of our school careers, the last few months with our friends and teachers we've gotten to know over the years. We want a last piece of normality to finish the school year with. Everyone has had to adapt due to Covid-19. Teachers, students, administrations, doctors, family members, our grandparents, friends and family with health problems that can get sick easier than the rest of us. We understand how bad the problem is and how much worse it's getting and can get. We understand the issues happening in our world today and that we as seniors are not the only ones being affected during this time. We know there are so many other things that to some people like our government officials might be seen as more important, but please grant us our graduation ceremonies. Let the class of 2020 have a final bow before it's over.
