Reinstate 1 yr Applied Ba ECCE @ Carlow IT for higher capitation

We are asking the Department of Education ,Early Years policy unit to reinstate the 1 year Applied BA in ECCE at Carlow IT as acceptable for higher capitation . We are asking that you engage in a more meaningful way with our sector with regard to qualifications, instead of consistently making changes to the DCYA acceptable qualifications list. This course was a 'Bridge' to a Degree ,a chance for our sector to formalize qualifications which were achieved (before ECCE degrees were available to us ) and years of work experience,( it is not ,a Degree in a year, as some who want to mislead keep refering to it as) in a timeframe that was achievable for us given our work schedules. This was a ray of hope for us, as a chance to achieve a professional qualification in the midst of being overworked, underfunded, underpaid and still over regulated .The advisory group on higher education  in ECCE convened  in 2011, as a sector we review our policies frequently- it is time for you to make a meaningful review of ECCE courses with representatives from our sector. Please engage and consult(with approved representatives) stop imposing. This course should remain on this list, as with all current courses listed ,unless there is an open and transparent review of the approval criteria that deems it, or any other qualification, ineligible. Continuous inconsistent policy decisions at departmental level are completely disrespectful of our profession and are unacceptible.
