Remove TJ Brown from his position of authority

Bloomfield Police Sgt Tj Brown has been on paid administrative leave since Nov 2013. He has been on leave because of a sexual misconduct investigation which involved Brown, his live in boyfriend and a 16 year old high school student. Brown used his police resources to identify and contact the juvenile. A sexual relationship ensued and lasted through the summer months of 2010. The juvenile came forward because he felt there were other potential juvenile victims who were being targeted. Farmington Police Dept. conducted an investigation case #13-56742 and even though a warrant was written, charges were never filed.

Brown will return to full duty on 4/22/14 where he will again have full police powers and the resourses, to again, violate the public trust. Brown has clearly violated his oath of office, the Bloomfield Police Departments code of ethics policy  (04-05) and the standards of conduct policy (100-4).

As public employees, Bloomfield Police Department personnel are granted a public trust which requires that they consistently demonstrate the highest degree of integrity. Members shall accept full responsibility for their attitudes, behaviors and the results of their behaviors both on and off duty. Attitudes and behaviors that may not be considered wrong in private employment could be wrong in the public sector because of the need to gain and maintain the public's confidence and trust. Brown has clearly violated the public trust.

I request that the citizens of our county, who feel that the actions of Sgt Brown are wrong, support and sign this petition to have him removed from his position of authority.
