RESTORE THE PRIMROSE BOWLING CLUB

EKURHULENI MUNICIPALITY MUST RESTORE THE PRIMROSE BOWLING CLUB in Bluebell Avenue before it becomes another informal settlement or haven for criminals. Ekurhuleni Municipality submitted the insurance claim in July 2023. Now 15 months later, and no building or repairs have started at this establishment. The SRAC at Ekurhuleni Municipality has also neglected to maintain the bowling greens for more than 4 years. These bowling greens need to be repaired and maintained urgently. The bowling club is almost a heritage sight in Primrose, built in 1930, it is now 94 years old. It is an important part of our Primrose town.

The CPF of Primrose as well as community members have written to the SRAC at Ekurhuleni Municipality requesting their urgent feedback as to when repairs will start without any response to date.  PRIMROSE RESIDENTS WANT THE BOWLING CLUB RESTORED AND WE WANT THE BOWLING GREENS REPAIRED AND MAINTAINED.

Community members that frequent the bowling club, have requested that Mr De Vasconcelos be given a lease for the bowling club premises, as he has given a lot of his time and money towards securing the premises from criminals and vagrants. He has continued to look after and maintain what is left of the building, keeping it clean and safe. He and his family are well respected in the community. The CPF Sector 3 together with Mr De Vasconcelos and community members are willing to do a community fundraiser in order to build a wall around property to make it more secure, more sound proof and a safe space for community to gather.
