In Re: DDA Park between CR Park and NRI Complex.
Sir,
This is with regard to a DDA Park which is between CR Park and NRI Complex (NRI Complex is in GK-IV) and the park is behind Jahapanha Club of GK-II.

It has been noticed that there is some concrete development being undertaken by the DDA in the above mentioned park. On enquiry, it was conveyed that construction was being done for installation of swings for children.

It may be brought to your kind attention that there is already an area existing in the park in a corner, where swings for children are installed. The area where the present construction is going on, is in the middle of the green area of the park which is totally unsuitable for the said project, as the grass is being removed for no reason, to replace it with concrete. The entire ambiance of the park is being destroyed by removing the beautiful, healthy green patch. A large number of residents of the area are visiting the park in the morning as well as in the evening for walks, yoga, exercise etc. and are using this patch, where the present construction is going on.

Sir, kindly appreciate that when there is already an area in the park where children swings are already installed then what is the reason for DDA not to develop that area and choose to construct another site in the park for the same purpose. There is total non-application of mind as to the site being developed for installing additional swings right in the middle of the park, to which not only the residents of the area but we, as an organization take strong objection. It may also be relevant to bring to your kind attention that the area where the swings are already in existence, more than sufficient land is available where additional swings can be installed and that area can also be developed which is lying totally ignored by your authority.

We may bring it to your notice that in 2008 DDA had planned to convert this 'Open Green Area' into a Mini Sports Complex and the foundation stone for the same had also been laid down by the then Hon'ble Sh. Jaipal Reddy (Minister for Urban Development). Our organisation had approached the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi in Writ Petition (C) No. 4908 Of 2008 - Conference for Human Rights (India) Vs. Government of NCT, Delhi & Ors., as a result of which the DDA was forced to give up the plan for converting this 'Open Green Area' into a concrete Mini Sport Complex.

Sir, we are making this humble representation to you to please to look into the matter urgently and pass appropriate directions to the concerned department of your authority to stop carrying any construction at the present site as the same is destroying the 'Open Green Area' and the concerned department, instead be directed to develop that area of the park in which swings already exist.

We hope that your good self will take an immediate action in the matter for the redressal of our grievances and give directions to the concerned department to stop construction, immediately.
