(Lake country, 2020-01-13)

#5

Grandchildren currently attending in Lake Country.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-13)

#6

Both of my children are in French Immersion. I believe that if you are going to provide a FI elementary school in Lake country then middle and secondary should also be provided.

(Lake country, 2020-01-13)

#7

My children will be in the French immersion at Peter Greer and we would love to stay in our community.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-13)

#10

I will be thrilled if the French Immersion program in Lake Country will be extended through to Grade 12, as both of my children will benefit from this.

(Lake County, 2020-01-13)

I’m singing because o have a daughter who I want to attend French Immersion. I would like her to grow up and go to school in her community with peers. Bussing adds extra time and danger to her day.

#14

Our kids shouldn’t have to travel to Kelowna for their education

(Lake Country, 2020-01-13)

#17

As a parent and a teacher, it is important that students have the opportunity to continue with French in Lake Country.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-13)

#20

It’s important for the present and future Lake Country to have the FI program available to students.

The current situation and insistence that our local children have their education path moved to Kelowna at Grade 6 is a huge limiting factor for many families and a major deterrent for people wanting to involve their kids in FI.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-13)

#22

I would like my children to be able to complete French immersion locally.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-13)

#24

I’m signing on behalf of my niece who has to take the city bus from Winfield to Kelowna each morning and gets home after dark because there is no French immersion program for kids in Winfield from grade 7+, it’s not safe for a child to have to take the city buses at her age. Plus she is separated from her sister. Winfield needs to extend the French immersion program to the high school.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-13)

#29

Lake country is a large enough community now and a new school means french immersion should be available. While I have no children in French, I have 3 nieces who attend PGE in French immersion

(Lake country, 2020-01-13)

#31

My son was in french immersion in Alberta, we just moved to BC and all the classes were full. My hope is that we can get him back into french at some point during his school years in lake country.

(Lake country, 2020-01-13)

(Langley, 2020-01-13)

#50

I’m signing because I have a son who will be enrolling into French immersion and we would love for him to be able to take it until grade 12.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-13)

#51

I believe FI should be available to Lake Country students. I grew up in the program and had to ship into Kelowna for secondary. It is crazy how far removed from the community you live in you become when you attend school in another community.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-13)

#52

I believe In the importance of having a bilingual community.

(Vernon, 2020-01-13)

#53

I have 2 grand children that currently attend French Immersion at Peter Greer and it would be much more convenient if they could continue their education in Lake Country upon completion of Grade 7 at Peter Greer. As a growing community with many young families choosing French Immersion for their children there should be the opportunity for them to have this choice locally rather than having to bus into Kelowna.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-14)

#55

Growing and supporting the next generation!

(Lake Country, 2020-01-14)

#57

I'm am signing this because the kids in this community deserve the choice to continue thier french ciriculum in town. The program continues to grow and so should the schools offering it.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-14)

(Lake Country, 2020-01-15)

#66

My daughter has been taking city transit for a year and a half to attend FI middle school-would love for her to be able to stay in her community AND avoid attending an overpopulated high school in Kelowna...

(Lake country, 2020-01-15)

(Lake Country, 2020-01-15)

(Lake Country, 2020-01-15)

#74

Our daughter is currently enrolled in the French Immersion program at PGE, and we would LOVE for there to be the option of continuing in Lake Country. We unfortunately won't continue on if our only option is to go to Dr. Knox.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-16)

#76

I would love my children to have the opportunity to continue on with their French Immersion education past grade 6 which is not feasible for us with the current configuration.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-16)

#77

I have two boys in french immersion at Peter Greer and they want to continue. But Dr Knox and KSS are not compatible with our schedules.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-16)

#83

My kids would benefit from this.

(Lake country, 2020-01-17)

#85

I used to require public transport to attend KSS, even for partial days and early morning classes. I was unable to join clubs and sports groups at the school due to lack of transportation options.

(Oyama, 2020-01-17)

#86

This would be very positive for our community

(Lake Country, BC, 2020-01-17)

#87

French immersion is so good for our children.

(Lake country, 2020-01-18)

#90

This is important

(Lake Country, 2020-01-18)

#97

It isnt fair them to go all the way to Kelowna and away from friends. Having the option here would bring more families and keep families.

(Lake country, 2020-01-22)

#103

I have two kids the french immersion program and would like them not to have to travel to Kelowna.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-22)

#104

My daughter is in kindergarten French and I would love for her to stay in lake country without having to travel to a French school

(Lake country, 2020-01-22)

#107

All the hard work for these students doing French immersion is lost when they transition to the only secondary school option in Lake Country

(Lake country, 2020-01-22)

#108

I would like to see our kids have the opportunity to continue with french immersion up to gr. 12 and I think there is a good deal of interest in the community for this suggestion. Dr. Knox is not an option for many families due to transportation difficulties.

(Lake country, 2020-01-22)

#109

(Lake Country, 2020-01-22)

#118

I live in Lake Country and just gave birth to my son in September. I would like to enrol my son in French Immersion when he in school age. It would be ideal if he could continue and graduate from the community he lives in.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-22)

#119

My grandson is in French immersion at Peter Greer. I taught at Kenneth Gordon School for 27 years and saw how difficult the long days were for our students who were bused to and from school. We need to ensure that our French immersion students can continue their education right here in Lake Country.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-22)

#123

I’m signing this because I have one child already in French Immersion and our second will be starting next year. We would love our children to be able to stay in local schools but continue their French education.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-22)

#125

I want my child to continue with the French immersion program through secondary schooling

(Lake country, 2020-01-22)

#130

I have two children in the program at Peter Greer and sincerely want the opportunity to send them to their neighborhood school in our community. I am highly committed to the program and their success in it but am also much more commited to their health and cannot understand how a 2+ hour daily transit commute seems reasonable for 11 year olds to our school board. I sincerely hope the school board takes this request seriously.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-23)

#137

I think a French Immersion program for middle and high school would be a great addition in Lake Country. Now kids have to go to Kelowna after elementary school which is a bit of a hassle (long days).

I would like a french immersion option for when my daughter goes to school.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-24)

With French Immersion education being offered from Grades 1 to 6 in Lake Country, it is important to offer continuity of education in the higher grades. There are a variety of factors that may prevent families from accessing French Immersion education in Kelowna after Grade 6.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-24)

#162

I agree the French immersion is good for a growing community.

(LakeCountry, 2020-01-24)

(Coquitlam, 2020-01-27)

#176

I am a parent of 3 kids active in the French program of different grade levels as community activity involvement. Moving to Kelowna means additional costs in transportation, time and resources. We have a full class in lake country to support this as many are changing out to English due to theses concerns! Let’s keep this alive in already a struggling program!

(Lake Country, 2020-01-27)

#177

My two grandchildren attend Lake Country. French Immersions. I have seen and heard the growth in education my two grandchildren have gained by attending and having another language they can use to understand and grow with. DH

#196

Students need to be able to continue with French emertion until grade 12 in Lake Country

(Lake Country, 2020-01-28)

#197

Every elementary French Immersion student in Lake Country should have the option of continuing their studies at the middle and secondary level in their own community. These students should not be forced/expected to add an extra hour each way to travel into Kelowna on city transit. Our children need to feel part of their community.

(Lake Country, 2020-01-28)

#199

Everyone should have equal access to French immersion programs.
