Our children are our future, they need the best possible learning environment to allow them to learn at their full potential. Teaching them life skills is such an important aspect that is being overlooked!

I have 2 children attending riverside elementary in clarenville nl. One of my children has special needs, the other needs extra attention and neither get what they need.

(Clarenville , 2017-03-09)

#36

I believe in this children are not getting the education they deserve !!

(St John's NL, 2017-03-10)

#37

My child went from a 14 student class in Kindergarten to a 24 student class for grade 1 and now grade 2. This is too many, the children have many distractions along with not enough student teacher time to process the lessons handed out to them for completion with confidence. If a child is in need of help as many may; they are at such a young age then they get upset at their lack of knowledge. Children are cruel towards one another as it is.

My children will all be affected by these short sighted decisions.

I am signing this petition for the Safety and better Standard of Edication for the Students of my district and our Province. If our GOVERNMENT has to put a price on EDUCATION then our GOVERNMENT has to resign. Our STUDENTS deserve Better than this.

The decision to close Whitbourne is wrong on many levels. As an fire inspector I see nothing wrong with this building. All I ever heard talk of is the roof which is an expense but so is everything else as a building owner so to me that is invalid. Look at bay d espoir for example they are lucky to have kept the building in St. Albans because that honestly is saving money plus to ever close that in 99 was a mistake because government closed that without doing proper analysis and now I think they are that after all the years. It took two or three busses to those kids to miltown as apposed to the one to do the run the other way. For once make a desiscion that makes sense.

The government decisions and lack of knowledge on the current situation in our schools is appalling! They are living in a dream world! And they need to wake up!

I have a children in Gr.4 and 11. I am also an Occupational Therapist. We NEED O.T.s in schools. We are the only province in Canada that does not have school based OT. We have SLP for the schools in our region.....out of Corner Brook?!?! The children of this province are not getting the services that need. No one is benefitting from the current structure. Teachers included.

(St.Anthony, 2017-03-12)

#71

My son has special needs and because of a combined class of more than 25 students he cannot deal with being in the classroom. He spends most of the day by himself with an IRT and away from his classmates. Class sizes need to be reduced to promote learning and a more supportive environment!

(Hare Bay, 2017-03-12)

I have nephews going to a school that is overcrowded and therefore their quality of education is suffering.

(Hillview, 2017-03-13)

I am signing because the children of this province should be provided with an education that meets with their learning style, engages each student with opportunities for optimal learning outcomes, fosters excellent social and moral development, and ensures that all students recieve the necessary supports and accommodations that provide equity for exceptional and differet learners. An education system that treats it's stakeholders and community members with respect. All teachers, support staff, and administration are given the necessary tools and training that promotes ones strengths but ensures that their efforts are rewarded. The children of Newfoundland and Labrador today and of tomorrow will require an education system that will be fluid, change and grow with the needs of economy, employment and society.

(St. John's, 2017-03-13)

(Bay Bulls, 2017-03-14)

#138

the curriculums need to change especially the math program.

(Clarenville, 2017-03-14)

#143

The students and teachers of this province require an environment that is conducive to learning. Deep cuts to education and the implementation of poorly-resourced initiatives are having a negative impact on students being able to learn and teachers being able to teach.

(Grand Falls-Windsor, 2017-03-14)

(Marystown, 2017-03-14)

#164

Our Education System is failing our teachers and our students.

(Clarenville, 2017-03-14)

#174

There is not enough support put in place for the amount of needs out there. Student assistants and teachers are overworked, leaving the work environment very stressful and not a positive atmosphere.

(Pouch Cove, 2017-03-14)

#178

There needs to be major improvements made to the current education system. It does not meet the needs of many of our students as it is currently.

(Clarenville, 2017-03-14)

I am a member of MENSA because I am a math genius. I had an A in advanced calculus at MUN without studying. I have tutored Intro physics without taking a class. I have had great success as a math tutor. I am signing because I don't understand grade 4 math.

My sister is a teacher. She has become less of an educator of children and more of a day care worker to them. This cannot continue if we want our children to become well educated and functioning members of society.
