They are by far the best and most passionate coaches I have ever had between hockey rugby soccer football baseball and ultimate

The Keffers are incredible people that have done an exceptional job over the past decade contributing to the sport of ultimate, as well as the students involved.

(WELLINGTON, 2017-05-31)

The Keffer's deserve our support. No reasonable explanation has been provided as to why this has occurred and it is completely unfair to them and the kids. Nowhere will you find a more committed family.

(North Vancouver, 2017-05-31)

#224

I'm signing this because I have benefited from years of coaching from the Keffers and I believe other students should have the opportunitys I have had. They have done nothing but amazing things for program and for the students that have played ultimate throughout the years.

(North Vancouver, 2017-05-31)

#226

It is amazing and inspirational to see what the Keffers have done for the ultimate community. From an outside perspective, the keffers have always been incredibly kind to everyone, and deserve the best.

I've seen the impact that Carla has had on Sutherland Ultimate!

(Richmond, 2017-05-31)

#232

Although I've never been coached by the Keffer's before I know how well loved and dedicated they are to the teams that they coach. I've known the Keffer's for a really long time and I want others to get to know them as well

(North vancouver , 2017-05-31)

#233

Signing because of the great thing the keffers have done for not just Sutherland high school ultimate program, but for BC juniors ultimate.

Carla and Michael Keffer have done so much for Sutherland Secondary and the kids who have been through the ultimate program. I truly believe both of them have changed the lives of the majority of the teens who have been lucky enough to call themselves a protector, and will only continue to do so if they are able to stay. Ultimate is a HUGE passion of mine, and I certainly don't play it because I "like to party" despite the ignorant comment that was made by two members of the Sutherland Secondary staff. The fact that Carla and Michael are losing their positions as coaches because of a situation that happened TWO YEARS AGO is absolutely appalling and I hope that those same two members of the staff are able to realize that ultimate is bigger than that. In fact, it's bigger than all of us.

To support the growth of ultimate frisbee

In my years of high school, I haven't witnessed a school program so dominant in a sport than Sutherland is with Ultimate. A large part of that success is to do with the coaching of the Keffers. The Keffers have created a dynasty, developing their players into better athletes and better people. Both can be displayed with the numerous spirit and titles at the district and provincial level. The thought of beating them would motivate my school team and many others to push ourselves. I've had the privilege of being coached by the Keffers through club Ultimate and their passion and dedication to the program and the sport is unparalleled. Without the Keffers, North Shore and BC Ultimate will not be the same.

(North Vancouver, 2017-05-31)

#254

I had a great time on the Sutherland ultimate team and learned a lot!

(North Vancouver, 2017-05-31)

#255

Sutherland has been one of the most successful and inspiring ultimate programs in British Columbia. Playing against them in high school, and coaching against them after graduating, Sutherland consistenly produces excellent athletes who maintain a positive and constructive attitude. Losing Sutherland's ultimate program, especially the legacy and credibility of the Keffers, would be utterly devastating to BC's ultimate community. Save the Protectors!

(Vancouver, 2017-05-31)

#259

Im a long term player and i think the coaches are getting the short end of the stick

(North Vancouver , 2017-05-31)

#275

Amazing ultimate program. Would be a huge loss to BC Ultimate.

(Vancouver, 2017-05-31)

#281

I'm signing because I believe in what the Keffer have done, what they have brought to the community and the type of people/athletes they developed.

(Surrey, 2017-05-31)

I was coached by the keffers for 5 years and would never be the player or person I am now without them on and off the field. Wonderful people and fantastic coaches

(North vancouver, 2017-05-31)

#285

The Keffer's have made such a difference in my life, and it would be an absolute shame to see them leave the incredible program that they have built and cared for for so many years.

The Sutherland Ultimate Program is everything Ultimate is about. Community, inclusion, Spirit, fitness, participation and giving back. Our association has admired and attempts to emulate the kind of Success in terms of Growth, Quality and Spirit this fantastic program generates consistently.

Carla was/is the best coach anyone could ask for - she was so encouraging and spread the love of the game so effectively!

(Maple Ridge, 2017-05-31)

#303

The Keffer's are wonderful people and coaches. I've seen the players who have gone through their program go on to play high level, competitive ultimate... and all around great individuals.

(vancouver, 2017-05-31)

#307

ultimate is a fantastic sport and every kid should have an opportunity to play it

(Denver, 2017-05-31)

#311

I have respect for their program and realize where they are now is due to the unimaginable work put in by the Keffers.

(Surrey, 2017-05-31)

#313

I love ultimate and sutherland needs to keep their amazing team and great coaches!!

(North Vancouver , 2017-05-31)

#315

I have played ultimate with and against many players from Sutherland and have nothing but great things to say about the people that come out of the ultimate program. The Keffers have done a great job and should be able to continue to do so.

(Victoria, 2017-05-31)

#319

These are two of the most desicated and passionate coaches i have ever played ultimate with or have coach my son.

(North Vancouver , 2017-05-31)

#320

The Keffers are great coaches and a valuble asset to Sutherland and the North Van commmunity!

(North Vancouver, 2017-05-31)

#325

The Keffer's are the most hardworking and passionate coaches I have ever had the privilege to be taught by.

(Vancouver, 2017-05-31)

#326

I want more great ultimate players and great teammates to come out of this program in the future and keeping the Keffers is critical for that to happen

(Vancouver , 2017-05-31)

#336

I played ultimate at Sutherland Secondary with the Keefers and without a doubt it was the best part of my high school experience. You may not believe it but ultimate taught me some important life values through the spirit of the game motto. Ultimate and the Keefers taught me that above all be kind, have fun, and remember it is just
A game. To take away ultimate from Sutherland you are depriving kids of so many great and needed life experiences. The Keefers are great coaches and I will back them up any day. Protectors for life.

As a former student of Sutherland, and a current teacher in North Vancouver, this is appalling. Knowing how much personal time and effort goes into organizing and coaching students, it is shocking to me that admin wouldn't encourage parents and volunteers to be more like Carla and Michael. It is the school's duty to encourage and provide fitness opportunities for as many students as possible. It is our duty as teachers (as supported by Coaching Canada and the new BC Curriculum) to ensure students are active for life, develop healthy and supportive relationships, make connections within their community and remain emotionally, mentally and physically healthy. Ultimate Frisbee provided all of that for more students than ever at Sutherland, and has impacted their lives (and mine) in such a positive way. I hope admin makes the right decision in welcoming the Keffers back with an apology, before earning the school a poor reputation. Sutherland was lucky to have them, and they will be lucky to have them back.

(North Vancouver, 2017-05-31)

I have been waiting five years to have the opportunity to play Ultimate at Sutherland and, more importantly, be coached by the Keffers. I've seen my older cousins and sister excel under the Keffer's guidance. I have had the opportunity to be coached for fun by the Keffer's in camps in the offseason and know how wonderful it would be to have them coach my team in coming years. My grade 8 team, comprised of almost 20 dedicated players, aspire to play as well as the seniors and are devastated to think we won't have that opportunity.

(North Van, 2017-05-31)

#350

This team has brought together so many different groups of people that other wise would not have become friends. The reasoning behind the demantaling of such a fantastic organization is beyond me. Teachers are supposed to do what's best for the students and what's in their best interest, this is doing the opposite.

(North Vancouver, 2017-05-31)

#351

It is the right thing to do !

(North Vancouver, 2017-05-31)

#366

The keffers have created a positive Ultimate experience here on the North Shore. Given an opportunity to those who needed a more advanced challenge. They made North Van a name within the ultimate community.

(West Vancouver , 2017-05-31)

#370

Because playing ultimate frisbee helps students develop skills that I want in our future leaders.

(Vancouver, 2017-05-31)

#375

Carla and Michael Keffer are so dedicated, hard working, and great coaches. They have inspired so many kids, gave them confidence, and much more. Sutherland has made the BIGGEST mistake, and NEED to bring them back. Ultimate is a great sport. The kids love playing and work hard to be the best. How can Sutherland take that away from them?

(North vancouver, 2017-05-31)

#379

I believe the Keefer's are the "Ultimate" coaches! Could it be the power is corrupt?

(North Vancouver, 2017-05-31)

#380

I have had the privilege to coach high school athletes over the last 50 years and knowing the passion involved and the Keifers and their passion for this game I fully support their return to the programme.

(Delta, 2017-05-31)

#381

I played ultimate for 7 years as an adult and deeply wish I had had the opportunity to play in my high school days: the spirt embraces all types and abilities and as such would have made all the difference to someone like me.

Shutting down Ultimate at Sutherland is wrong as is the firing of the Keffers

(North Vancouver, 2017-05-31)

#391

I personally don't know the Keffers, but when I started playing ultimate, Sutherland was the top school in BC. To me Sutherland ultimate is the epitome of BC ultimate cause of the Keffers.
