The right to mock exams between the written and oral BAC

In my experience in ESL2 I had the chance to practice oral exams before the bac exam therefore I do not understand why this should be banned for the next generations. Simply unfair and wtf

I will be negatively affected if the decision to remove practice oral exams go through

(Eindhoven, 2018-01-13)

I am in year 4 b-tests are stressful enough..i can't imagine the stress I'll be going through in year 7

We need the practice! This is something completely new to us. How are we expected to do something we’ve never had to before and never were able to practice.

Having graduated from a European school myself 2 years ago, I see no reasonable explanation as to why my youngest sister wouldn't be allowed to the same help that we got, especially when I think it was a GREAT way to practise what we would otherwise never have the chance to!

I'm a 6th year and I would like to have a practice oral exan

(Varese , 2018-01-13)

#629

I still got to practice them and it was an immense help for me, and I was a lot less stressed going into them because I had an idea of what was coming.

(Luxemburg , 2018-01-13)

#636

I believe it is a right students should have.

(Luxembourg, 2018-01-13)

#646

Because it will effect me next year whilst I do my bac

(Luxembourg , 2018-01-13)

#651

Did European Bac last Year and needed mock exams to feel prepared and confident in exam.

(Munich, 2018-01-14)

#664

I'm signing because it is totally unacceptable to spring this on pupils in year 7. It also shows how the system really supports its pupils!!

(alicante, 2018-01-14)

#668

I’m signing because i would like to be able to practise the orals because it would help me revise for the real ones. If we don’t have it, it will be hard to know were we are headed..

(Bruxelles, 2018-01-14)

#679

I think mock oral exams are very helpful

(Brussels, 2018-01-14)

I believe the new rules are prohibiting students from performing to the best of their ability. The goal of the EB is to test content knowledge and comprehension, not ability to deal with new situations. For many who do not have the means to have practice orals before the specified time, they truly are going to be struggling to deal with a new and stressful situation. Remember to note just how hard the students are working to do well on the BAC. Not a couple weeks of preparation; no, for many this means months. Months and months of work surely is enough to prove that these students are taking the BAC seriously. Why try and hinder their success?

I’m signing because it affects me directly and because it is a ridiculous ban since it stops students from affronting public speech or learning how to act in future interviews, it goes against everything the concept of education stands for and creates a disadvantage in regard to past years

(Alicante, 2018-01-14)

#699

It affects my son and I feel very strongly about it especially since I am feeling paying too.

(alicante , 2018-01-14)

I agree with this petition. The new rules are ridiculous this year. They give too much stress and that is not done. Hurry back to the previous rules.

(Tervuren, 2018-01-15)

#708

It is absolutely unacceptable to suppress highly valuable training given by teachers. Before the written exams, the students do not have enough time to train for the oral exams. It is only natural that this is done between written and oral exams.
If this suppression of valuable training is intended because of suspicion of an indiscretion, other ways should be found to ensure confidentiality without punishing the students.

Because I find it extremely important to get this rule back, mainly because in a lot of schools in other countries you actually know what you’re going to talk about and can study it. in our school we get 20 minutes to rehearse it - and it’s just not enough, so the least we can do is make it allowed to study oral exams.

(Brussels, 2018-01-15)

#715

The school is changing rules for thhe worse and its starting to become a prison.

(Tervuren, 2018-01-15)

#726

I have completed the European baccalaureate with the possibility of doing practise oral exams and it was very helpful to me.

(Alicante, 2018-01-16)

#730

because I think it is right and useful

(Bertrange, 2018-01-16)

#734

I’m signing because I am a student of the Europa school Culham and believe that these mock orals are much needed considering we have never had to do proper oral exams and it is our only chance to prepare for the Bac.

(Abingdon, 2018-01-16)

#737

I believe it is our rights as students to be fully prepared for every exam and not only written. This is essential to our education and many in the school have no or little experience in public speaking or oral exams.

(Luxembourg, 2018-01-16)

#740

I’m signing this because i believe we have the right to practice our orals. The fact that it will be the first time we have ever done anything like this can’t be the actual exam. It would be like giving a test to first years about the Russian revolution. They don’t that yet. And we don’t do any orals yet. So how can they expect us to complete it and get a good grade if some of us are so nervous because it’s the very first time? If the teacher would want his students to succeed and interferes by letting them see the question, then they will find another way to make sure their students see it. It just adds more stress and makes the school system stricter with no reason other than “they could maybe cheat”. There will always be people who cheat and no one can stop that. But we can give every student a chance to at least practice the orals.

(Luxembourg, 2018-01-16)

#742

I believe time between the bacs and the orals are essential to achieve the grades many students depend on for their later study.

(Bergen, 2018-01-16)

#745

I’m a former student who benefited from the mock oral exams prior to my final examinations

(Alkmaar , 2018-01-16)

#753

I believe students should have the rights to practice oral exams at any time throughout their BAC course. I am also one of the students affected by this change.

(Abingdon, 2018-01-17)

#763

Schools that have less time between written and orals have had more time at school, the time will be made up their. It is unjust to make school that have less time in this period be punished.

(Oxford, 2018-01-17)

#770

This is their only chance to train the orals exams before it really counts.Would be unthinkable in all the countries I know of.

(Luxembourg, 2018-01-18)

#771

The change is announced too late in the academic year. The teachers have no chance to adapt their teaching and the students will be less prepared for their oral exam. This change has been announced without any justification.

(Mamer, 2018-01-18)

#782

I'm signing because the S7 DK pupils haven't had any training as the teachers in their good rights, were counting on that the "practice oral exams" were still there exactly for that purpose. It's a irresponsible way the school have approached this and I can only condemn how this has been done - you should know better

(Luxembourg, 2018-01-18)

#783

I have a daughter in S7 in the Uccle school who needs and deserves this possiblity, just like other pupils did in previous years.

(Ohain, 2018-01-18)

#785

Of course the students need to prepare as good as possible to their BAC, and therefore need to practise the oral exams, before they "go live".

(Mamer, 2018-01-18)

#789

3 generations of Cervinos went to the European School. We're used to periodically having bureaucrats challenge student rights. Always took action to fight it!

(Luxembourg, 2018-01-18)

#795

I'm signing because I found the possibility of mock exams a great asset to prepare a succesful BAC and I do not understand on which basis and without any communication they have been eliminated

(Bruxelles, 2018-01-18)
