Not only has the latest disruption upset our daily routines, we have no hot water for basic hygiene, our security is lowered due to gate motors etc no longer operating and being shrouded in darkness, our sinuses are upset due to gas, smoke and paraffin in the air, normal meals take ages to cook because of a single plate gas cooker. To top it all our freezers defrost and WE are supposed to foot the bill for the cost of the spoiled meat etc....

CoE needs to be proactive, not reactive. Upgrades and proper fixes need to be made instead of waiting until the system fails. System failures not only cause inconvenience for residents but come at a greater cost, I’m sure, to the taxpayers than an upgrade or proper repair would.

We were not affected (luckily) by the latest incident, but were somehow inconvenienced by our own humanity to others. Therefore we had to store food in our fridges/freezers and help people bath and also helped them with the means to heathen up or cook some warm food for people in the affected areas.
It is not the first outage, and what is disgusting is that the Metro do not accept responsibility of acknowledging their own failure to maintain power, but to blame it (as always) on cable theft! In my opinion the Metro is NOT trustworthy and we cannot rely on them for any services, especially during the cold winter, without wondering why maintenance issues was not dealt with in the past (or controlled) in order to install new components (cables etc) as and when it became clear the old ones were due for replacement.
