A relative studying in Australia from overseas, has a job to earn a living while here and pays taxes on that income. Now without a job in hospitality he is not earning anything to pay his rent, food etc. who is helping him? His family also have lost jobs and cannot support him. Government need to also help these people.

I am an assistant restaurant manager who has worked and lived in Aus for 3 years. To have paid taxes and been a viable part of the economic society and not get any government support at this time is horrible. I also have coworkers who are in the same boat with no help.

I am on my partner visa (820) and I work hard to contribute to the Australia' s economy. I have been working as a full timer with my current job for 1.5 years and paid tax like every other Australian. Why the benefits doesn't go to us? I came to Australia first because I admir freedom of speech and treated people equally but this is not the case now which made me pretty disappointed. My partner ( who is an Australian citizen) and I have a baby on the way and it's due in September, how are we going to educate him and show him this country value people contribution is going to be a challenge.

The work force on these visas have contributed to the Australian economy and will one day be citizens. Don't let a technicality prevent them from having the support of Australia

I’m on a temporary work visa but am looking to stay in Australia long term. I’ve been living here 4.5 years, always paid taxes etc and generally contributed to society like any Australian has in that time. I understand that you would look after Australians first but the industry’s most heavily affected by Corona virus, contain very high numbers of overseas staff. Australia will need this overseas workforce and particularly people with skills, when everything re-opens and not helping now, with the ever closing international borders, will only put these people in progressively worse and ultimately untenable situations. Please extend the help to people from overseas, who pay their taxes and are as much as part of Australian society as those that were born here.

Bernita Teixeira (Melbourne, 2020-03-31)

Because this crisis is not limited to Australia, its international. A lot of temporary workers are temporary due to the rapidly and ever changing immigration rules limiting their access to permanent pathways or hampering their planned path to achieve a permanent pathway. The temporary workers build the economy, it's time to give it back.

Aakriti Yadav (Newman, 2020-03-31)

Temporary visa holders are suffering financially and they have been paying tax just like citizens. Therefore, at least there has to be a small support package for temporary residents.

I’m a Bachelor of Hospitality Management student also a chef who came here with a lot of passion. I came here to gain lot of experience. Nowadays I am out of a job and there is nothing else that I can do in these days. I need to pay my rent, my school fee and also I need to feed myself. I know a lot of people are in the same position with me. I need government support that at least helps me to pay one of these expenses.

I love the way you take care for your citizen. I know that you have a lot of things on your shoulder but please think about us as soon as you can. Because we work our best of the best and work very hard to gain your citizen trust.

I work in hospitality industry.. At the time people worry about their health, we are still being a hostest, touching food, clearing guest tables, cashing.. we still do it, we still keep smiling and do everything from our bottom heart. Because we know, that’s our responsibility, we love to help our guests.. then everything suddenly stopped. We stood down.. the most sadness is we are alone, without family, still need to worry about everything (house, health, bills, jobs, future), but also we need to calm our family down as our family worry so much for us as well.

We understand this situation, it affects everything everyone. Citizen, prv holder, TRv holder, we all are human.. we need your support at this time. And I always believe that when you treat people well, you will receive more than that.
