Common sense should prevail. Perfectly safe event to run during the pandemic. Plenty of open air . Cars are 6 metres apart minimum.

I think in these strange times it was the perfect idea to help people. Out in the middle of the country side with all precautions taken for social distance. Can't figure out why it was forced to stop.😥

Seems to me people have put a lot of effort into organising a field where families can go safely to find some enjoyment in these tough times. I can't see why these events have been shut down.

This is as essential for the community's mental health and wellbeing. Its is being organised and run by some of the most professional people ive ever met. The community needs this

Supporting local businesses that adhered to social distancing guidelines, sought advice from Gardai, was approved and then to have it retracted, causing financial loss at such a vulnerable time. #openthefield

I live in Corcaghan and think this is a fantastic idea. During this pandemic, people have been very cautious in following the strict guidelines. Now that the guidelines are easing, I think this outdoor event is a fantastic idea for people’s mental health. The community are coming together in a safe and appropriate way. #FreeTheField

The restrictions are a joke and people should be aloud to have entertainment. People are sitting in their cars for god sake and in a assigned box no less. So gardai need to get off their high horses.

Sophia Mc D (Monaghan, 2020-06-06)

There are people out there committing crimes that need to be caught and people causing harrasment. These guys have went out of their way and beyond to help a community come together and enjoy some quality time together. Causing absolutely no harm only happiness. Disgrace this has been shut down. Makes me so disappointed in our local guardai that they can't see the benefits from this.

Alisha Mc Elvaney (Monaghan, 2020-06-06)

#104

It’s a great opportunity to support local business during this current time. Also there would be little risk as all customers will be sat in the safety of their own car.
