I’m signing because Doug is a great guy! He runs a great store & the Hill is NOTHING that should be shut down! He respects all the town rules and isn’t an unreasonable guy, if anyone has a problem he will gladly hear your side and come up with a solid solution. Hope this helps!

Jennifer Lee (Danbury, 2020-09-03)

I've been a frequent visitor to Danbury for 44 years. I've always enjoyed looking at Hippy Hill as I drive by. For the past 12 years when in Danbury, I will stop at the Hill with my daughter.. I always get a picture of her on the Ragged Mtn bench or on one of the exercise bikes (she thinks it's the funniest thing to have those there)! It is definitely one of the things that makes Danbury, Danbury.

Hippy Hill an invaluable social resource for so many. To dismantle it would be an atrocity. It’s been a communal gathering place for generations and many veterans also have made the “Hill” a special place to be.

George Devlin (Grafton , 2020-09-03)

#20

The state of new Hampshire should worry about the infrastructure and leave them alone let Hippy hill live free or die and remember we the people are the boss the public servants that live off our tax dollars work for us

Save Hippy Hill it’s a landmark!

I’m signing because this place has been around ever since I can remember. There is no harm in letting it remain.

Richard Dion (Belmont, 2020-09-03)

#31

Unless there's a concern for safety, I see no reason why "Hippie Hill" can't continue. I can't remember a time that there wasn't a Hippie Hill. To my knowledge, there's never been any issues up there!

Vanessa Grinley (Grafton, 2020-09-03)

#36

This is just been a landmark for years let’s keep it going

We enjoy Hippie Hill and when in the area we always stop to stretch our legs, grab a snack and a drink and enjoy the scenery. Please lease the land to the store owner and leave it be. Thank you.

#49

Keep this local landmark open.

Corey Giroux (Danbury , 2020-09-03)

#50

I’m signing this because “Hippie Hill” has been a visiting and meeting spot for locals, bikers and travelers for decades. No one is causing any trouble or harm to anything or anyone having it there. This is supposed to be a free country and this is the live free or die state. Let’s keep it that way. Let’s focus on more important issues than removing a “historical” spot. The area is always clean and taken care of by locals and thank you for that. There are people from surrounding states that know of and make “Hippie Hill” their stop. People take a break in their travels there, visit each other, have a snack or drink, play cards, horseshoes and take group photos for years full treasured memories. Just leave it be and as I said earlier, focus on more important issues.

Lalena Matheny (Alexandria, 2020-09-03)

#51

this area has been used for years by locals and travelers for a spot to rest and meet taking it away would be a tragedy

Ralph Lord (N. Sutton, 2020-09-03)

#52

This has been a bikers peaceful destination for decades. Our memorial ride goes through here and stops every year. Motorcycle riders bring huge amounts of revenue to this state every year, why alienate them? Closing this site makes no good sense at all.

Jean Richards (Concord, 2020-09-03)

#54

My cousin Jim Marshall was a fixture on the hill, when he passed his celebration of life was on the hill. Please do everything you can to preserve this hill that means so much to so many.

Save the Hill... you bastards always seem to screw up a good thing.. LEAVE HIPPY HILL ALONE!!!

Butch Thornton (Bedford, 2020-09-03)

#76

Hippie Hill is a Danbury signature and a staple of our small community. It is a place to express ourselves, our freedoms, and our love for our town, state, and country. It is known across the country and it will be a sad day if the nay sayers of the world take this small piece of freedom from the world.

Megan Ricker (Danbury, 2020-09-03)

#77

Hippie Hill is a peaceful and fun meeting place to gather and enjoy time with friends. It is a destination location for people from other states and towns to head to for special get togethers, motorcycle rides for events and for town events. Plus it is an important part of the history of our town and what makes Danbury, NH special.

Bonnie Fletcher (Danbury, 2020-09-03)

#78

It's a land mark for generations of vistors.
It's good for tourism.

if you have not been to hippie hill you don't know dick

jason steele (Springfield , 2020-09-03)

#81

I am signing this because Hippy Hill is a staple in the riding community. This is a place that people often planned to ride to, at least for a quick stop & visit with fellow riders. Some of the best conversations are there, from politics, Human interests, sports and everyday life. The spot by far is a great example of just people coming together from all differ Demographics and enjoying each other's time without any expectations. In all The Times I've been there there's never been any trouble just good people and good conversation From all walks of life...that is something we don't get nowadays without some kind of trouble following it.... I urge you to leave the Hill alone. Many people could learn some very important life lessons by visiting the Hill.... Most important would be compassion.

#93

People have been coming to Hippy Hill long before the 32 years I’ve been around. Both Locals and travelers have made many memories up there. There’s not a whole lot to do in Danbury, the people who have grown to call Hippy Hill their happy place deserve to be able to
Continue to do so. I personally do not use Hippy Hill but I have many childhood memories of going up on it with now deceased family and friends.

Billie Jean Hufault (Wilmot, 2020-09-03)

Janet Littlefield (Danbury, 2020-09-04)

#123

Hippy hill is part of NH, and one of the only few things Danbury has. Dougs store depends on the income hippy hill brings for his success in his store. It would be a shame to lose that place.

Ami Fouts (Bristol, 2020-09-04)

#130

That little gathering spot has has given countless great memories to so many. It is landmark in our great state. When I was a kid I love going bye there just to see what kind of crazy things were going on although over years it has calmed down “a lot” but still has a spot in so many hearts. Why clear it ? So the grass and weeds can over take it! And there goes another one of NH’s unique little spots. Hell no leave it alone start hanging cars and motorcycles in the trees again anything but making it disappear!!!

Cory Westover (Claremont , 2020-09-05)

#134

This is part of my upbringing, and this is part of who and what Danbury is. It is like part of their lives. The Hill doesn’t bother anyone and it brings people together. Let it be, for once just let it be. Ann Sturtevant Cormier

This is a place where people can sit outside and relax for a while. It is no more a danger than having outdoor restaurant areas. It is a place that people have come to know as being there.

Justina Vasquezi (Grafton, 2020-09-10)

I've been going to hippie hill for a lg number of years . I've been going to the hill since the seventies what's so wrong with having a cold drink with friends. I'm going to write this on the back window of my car so everyone can see it

Phyllis Averine (Grafton, 2020-10-06)

#177

Like the sing painted on a rock in Bradford, NH, Hippy Hill is a cultural fixture in our area. The reasons stated in the letter from the State are weak and biased. This track is for public use and Hippy Hill is a destination for New Hampshire folks and out of state visitors alike. I do not own or drive a motorcycle, but Hipp Hill is a Cultural anomaly that is well liked by all. Hands off dictators

Terence Moore (Wilmot, 2020-10-06)

#178

Hippie Hill is a NH tradition. Enough with the BS. Leave a good thing be.

Rebecca Cassidy (Bristol, 2020-10-06)

Hippie Hill has been a staple in Danbury for longer than I’ve been alive. It’s a part of history and should not be forced to be removed.

Hippie Hill has become an institution where people can gather to take a break from what ever they are doing. Enjoy the company of friends, family and neighbors. It is an unique experience and the folks at the village store are super nice.

Karen Herschel (Troutman, 2020-10-07)

#191

No harm is being done there!!

Greg Herschel (windsor, 2020-10-07)

#192

The state shut down rest areas across Nh. It is a good, safe spot for motorcyclists that has been around for a long time. Why now? It's been hard enough during the pandemic. Don't take this destination away from us.

Mark Hampton (Belmont, 2020-10-07)
