I don't think they should take any hostel fees for 1st sem as there would be no hostel till January or February and paying lakhs is a waste of money as the facilities can be used by students.

We were asked to pay 50% hostel fees (i assume for the first semester )even tho we never stayed in the hostel , being 1st year students and it seems unfair. I assume they will ask for the rest next semester and I'm afraid this doesnt seem right. Even paying fees for labs and fields doesnt make sense because we havent even stepped on the grounds of the campus yet. I don't know why they asked for the hostel fees already, including laundry and mess and everything. Not even just room booking .
