Because I love racing. And we need somewhere to go race. Air ports are loud and so are raceways so why not race at a airport?

John Baumgartner (Rosser , 2020-11-19)

#203

I believe having a drag strip at St. Andrews airport benefits all the citizens of the area by offering participants a safe and controlled venue for testing the performance of their automobiles. I believe that this will reduce instances of speed violations and other potentially dangerous activities on the streets and highways.

Larry Arnold (St. Andrews, 2020-11-19)

#204

I'm signing because mpr is what st. Andrews needs

Ryan Forrest (Winnipeg, 2020-11-19)

#206

I support the racing community and believe that each special interest group needs to work together with the community to reach a compromise position which I understand they are trying to do. The area in question is an airport, where noise is expected (an argument could be made that the complaint is unjustified given it is being run on an airport facility) and the times that the track would be running are defined and reasonable (not every day or even weekend, not 24 hours per day like an airport could be). The residents should be willing to allow the events to run on defined dates and times and in turn the track operators should be willing to take reasonable measures to abate the noise levels to some degree. But, all parties should keep in mind that what is noise to some is music to others. Also, it is better to have such racing activities run in a defined, safe and easily accessible environment than the alternative where racing activities are conducted on public roadways due to racing facilities not existing or readily accessible to large metro populations.

This is not just a drag racing facility. This is a place that brings people together. I’ve been involved in the drag racing world since I was a kid. My entire family is involved. I’m a racer. My gf is a racer. Our kids love the track. Im passing on to my kids what my dad has passed on to me. It’s great to have another safe place for us to do what we love this close to the city. Nothing but support from me and my family

Anthony DaPalma (Winnipeg, 2020-11-19)

1 Rebecca lane. Love the venue. I believe that this will be very beneficial to the locals, as well as local businesses. Great place to take the whole family. I am a car enthusiast, and have also had the liberty of building and working on cars of this caliber and understand the need for this form of outlet in order to reduce the racing that is happening on our streets and roads. Safer than racing on the street and it is legal. These are the positives of having a safe and controlled venue.

Tony Dueck (St Andrews, 2020-11-19)

#212

Awesome people, awesome place and lots of fun

Kyle Avanthay (Carman, 2020-11-19)

#214

Manitoba needs a place to safely race other than Gimli, Sheldon supports every car enthusiast and MPR is a great way to keep our Sunday nights about cruising instead of racing illegally

Afam Floyde (Winnipeg, 2020-11-19)

#218

I live on Hay ave and I fully support the race track

Bryan Foy (St. Andrews , 2020-11-19)

#223

I believe our roads are safer if enthusiasts have regular opportunities to use a safe legal track, so no one is tempted to break the law on public roads. We have volunteered at the track in Portland Oregon. Police and city officials support and organize drag racing there all week long, to take all the wildness off the streets. It has worked there for many years.

DAVID GRANT (winnipeg, 2020-11-19)

#224

Donnie Thiessen (Winnipeg, 2020-11-19)

#246

I’m signing because as someone who travels from 3 hours away, we spend money on hotels, meals, shopping when we come to racetrack. We are not spending it in Winnipeg but St. Andrews and area.
When we come to race several of our friends and family also come to the area. We never visited this area in this way without the race track. Previously, we would just go directly to Sheldon’s shop and return home, shopping and eating in the city.

Bobbi-Lynn Geekie (Strathclair, 2020-11-19)

#247

This track is for the community, help bring everyone together, bring families together for something we would otherwise have to drive to gimli for, this is way closer and I feel that it's something my family can do anytime without dealing with city crowds

I love the community of St Andrews and think MPR is a great addition to the area as it will bring lots of revenue to surrounding businesses etc. I love drag racing as well and to have a safe place to race at the airport is great for Manitoba to keep it off the streets as well as entertain many people for years to come!

Tyler Weselowski (Ste Anne, 2020-11-19)

I’m signing this because I this is something that is very good for the Community and it is very well organized Further more i live right beside the airport and I can tell you that the low flying planes and the noise the planes make are ten time noisy than the cars on the drag strip . And let me add that the airplanes and there noise is year round and at all hours . I support this race way 100000000% and stand behind MPR in there efforts to keep this around for a long time

Joseph Shaw (St. Andrews , 2020-11-19)

As a proud Manitoba resident, a race track brings together communities and car cultures of a vast array. Bring In others from out of province, additionally, income into the surrounding communities of St.Andrews. The mom and pop local speed shops, hotels, restaurants and the list goes on. A race track brings together a father/mother’s bond with daughters/sons and creates lasting memories. MPR is a proud supporter of Manitoba goods and services and keeps manitoba tax money in Manitoba. Sheldon and Cheryl receive my families strong support.

Christopher Tesarski (Winnipeg, 2020-11-19)

#328

Shaun Swaffer (Winnipeg , 2020-11-20)

#362

The MPR Raceway offers a safe location for drivers to race. This is extremely important to help reduce drivers racing on Main St and River Rd. There are so many illegal racers on these roads. I hear them bolting off the lights at #9 and #27 nearly every summer day through all evening and all times of day during the weekends.
The raceway also brings positive publicity to our community.

Cora Bell (St Andrews, 2020-11-20)

I believe this is a good thing for St Andrews and for businesses around St. Andrews , as well it gives a place to go for people and get the racing out of their mind a safe and controlled environment, and racing during the day on weekends shouldn’t bother anyone , I believe MPR made the nessesery pre cautions to try to keep the noise down as much as possible. I live right by the airport, and don’t hear a thing. This is a Good thing. Keep it going.

I feel that if there is an issue with a few residents for a few hours per week, that it should become a non issue. There are planty more noise issues that happen daily at all hours of the day. This track can and will pump cash into the area and surrounding areas.
