I believe this is a positive thing to have in the Winnipeg area. Growing up in the Winnipeg area and being involved in the racing community Gimoli was too far to go so we raced on the street. This track needs to stay in operation and be free from further harassment.

Peter Irving (Killarney, 2020-11-21)

#402

Im signing because i believe Winnipeg needs a safe racetrack to keep street racers a place to rally, congregate and race in a safe environment.
I have dealt with Sheldon and Cheryl and they are great people trying to do a great thing.

Peter Cole (Winnipeg, 2020-11-21)

#403

Van Mol Road - it's great! It's a draw to the community, close to the city and no harm being done to anyone!!

D. Holly Bausman (St. Andrews, 2020-11-21)

#405

I believe in what this place stands for. With such a close track it will without a doubt keep the racing off the streets.Great place for family to go great for the community.Community should band together to support. Also brings more people to the area which equals more income for smaller as well as all local buisnesses

Jeremy Blais (Oakbank, 2020-11-21)

#406

The whole premise of organized Drag Racing is about safety and stopping street racing. This is a good facility and its proximity to Winnipeg will provide an outlet for folks and reduce street racing. It is an attraction for the RM of St Andrews and there will be resultant positive economic spinoff for the rate payers. The Airport is a high noise area already. MPR is working to minimize its operations impact on their neighbors.

Fred Senkow (SEVEN SISTERS FALLS, 2020-11-21)

#407

It is the best drag strip In Manitoba

Harley Drialich (East Selkirk, 2020-11-21)

#408

Thank you Sheldon and Cheryl for putting in so much hard work for an exciting venue that will put Winnipeg on the map. Let me know if you need any help with the sound issues. Sounds like something that can be addressed.

Allan Simonson (Winnipeg, 2020-11-21)

#409

Its a sport that I'm interested in, and its local. I have friends who race and this is a close location and its newer. The season is so short for them, and the shorter distance would help attendance. The sound isn't really a big problem.

Mike MacLean (St. Andrews, 2020-11-21)

#411

Our team really enjoys racing at MPR - it's in our province - many good family and friend connections.

Bev Friesen (Winkler, 2020-11-21)

#414

I am signing because I feel that the drag strip is a good addition to the St.Andrews area. It provides automotive enthusiasts a safe place to participate and watch drag racing.

Clayton Pollock (St. Andrews, 2020-11-21)

#417

These amazing people brought a track closer to the city for racers and spectators to enjoy, this is something I have been looking forward to for a long time.
My friends and I have gone 4 times this past season and have had so much fun, i really look forward to many more race weekends.
Please keep this going.

Bobby Schmidt (Winnipeg , 2020-11-21)

#419

I support the race track

Nico Cechet (Lefroy , 2020-11-21)

#421

MPR gives Motorsport enthusiasts a safe place to enjoy their passion for racing together . A local drag strip sheds a positive light on the sport and discourages street racing. Thank you for everything.

Chris Atchison (Winnipeg, 2020-11-21)

#425

Great place to see fantastic racing, well organized. Lets grudge racers take it to the track that’s close instead of Winnipeg streets or HWYs
Great work!!!

John Vandenberg (Clandeboye, 2020-11-21)

#427

I am signing this because it’s a nice close race track and it’s safer than racing on the street.

#434

I reside in St. Andrews and believe that what is being done to the raceway is unethical and unjustified.

Stefan Schwede (Selkirk , 2020-11-21)

#436

The people of St.Andrews shouldn't be dictated what there aloud to do by there fellow neighbour if they don't like whats going on around them they can move to the city first the complain about the airport noice which has been the longer than them and now a drag strip in the same location like get a clue if you don't like noise go buy a plot of land out in the sticks where no ones around you or move to the city or to a gated community stop trying to decide what everyone is aloud to do we all pay tax and pay for are land so you have no rights to saying what we can or can not do.

Payden Schwede (St. Andrews, 2020-11-21)

#438

I love the sport of drag racing and the fact we have this facility to participate at is wonderful. and would be a shame to see it go away so soon.

Adam Stoltz (Winnipeg, 2020-11-21)

#439

We need more Canadian racing facilities.

Sam Solly (Thunder Bay, 2020-11-21)

#440

I support the idea of a race track as a safe environment for racing. The opposition to it is just sour grapes. It’s an AIRPORT, they are by definition loud !! The odd car MAY be louder than a plane !!

Garry Eekhoudt (St Andrews , 2020-11-21)

I’m signing this petition as we live the raceway! Great fun and we love cars! We live on 7 Parish Bay, close to airport. It does not bother us at all. Same volume as a plane, no big deal! Please keep going! Great job!

I am in favour of the race track. I enjoy being able to hear the cars. I am not too far away on George st. Off of Parkdale. Hopefully the racing will continue I will look forward to attending a race in the future.

Jim Adolfson (St.Andrews, 2020-11-22)

#472

I strongly believe that a safe place for this sport is needed. And the guidelines have been done correctly

Godfrey Gottfredsen (Winnipeg , 2020-11-22)

#476

This is a great facility closer to the city of Winnipeg than Gimli and keeps the cars from drag racing on the streets.

Derek Pollock (Winnipeg, 2020-11-22)

#477

I believe it is harmless fun event, and a good safe outing for families to spectate and for those who want to participate. I was there this summer and it was awesome. Better racing there then on the public streets!

Sheldon Currie (Selkirk, 2020-11-22)

#478

It is so nice to see a new business opening outside of Winnipeg. The participants are both local and coming from other places to join into a passion they have and want to share while boosting the economy of the community in good clean entertainment.... we need more boosts to the economy especially now

Debbie Seniuk (Winnipeg, 2020-11-22)

#479

River Road.

Dan Precourt (St. Andrews, 2020-11-22)

#488

I’m signing because the only noise being made is during reasonable hours. Not early morning or late evening. Track brings in racers from all over who spend money in Winnipeg.

Cleo Hutmacher (Gonor , 2020-11-22)

#489

It is a great opportunity for St. Andrews.

Doug Feniuk (Stonewall, 2020-11-22)

#490

As a resident of St. Andrews, residing near the airport on Liss Rd, we are 100% in favor of the racetrack, from our yard the sounds of aircraft and traffic on Mcphillips Rd are much louder than the cars racing at the track. I personally have attended race events at the track and was impressed by MPR organization group conducting these events. As a family owning several classic cars, you can count on us to support continued future success of the track.

Karen Stanczak (Liss Rd. St. Andrews Mb, 2020-11-22)

#492

Lets work out any problems, it has been done elsewhere. Lets support local businesses, not shut them down.

J Campbell (East St. Paul, 2020-11-22)

Ray Curtis (Stead, 2020-11-22)

#506

It's a safe place for people to race, instead of the streets

Robert Paige (Stonewall, 2020-11-22)

#507

We need to have some fun in this community! This is not hurting anyone and quite frankly - gives people in Winnipeg a reason other than Hotdogs to come out to St. Andrews!

Tracy Kramble (St Andrews, 2020-11-22)

I live in St Andrews. Mirey Creek. Love the races! Makes St Andrews a destination!

Al Dolynchuk (Lockport, 2020-11-23)

#513

This is entertainment in our RM, well run. The noise is during the day, on weekends, doesn’t start early or end late and is no noisier than a floater plan taking off and flying over the community

Claire Askew (Red River Place , 2020-11-23)

#514

I am a strong supporter of local businesses I believe there is great potential in developing the airport and the race track. Perhaps a jet engine testing facility be nice

Julian Modrzejewski (Selkirk, 2020-11-23)

#531

This is a great opportunity for everyone. Brings people not only to race but to watch to the area. Great chance for local businesses to market to these people.
It also gives people who may street race a safe secure and legal place to do it keeping the streets safer.
Also noise wise. It's an airport. Planes are not quiet. And those are year long everyday. This is a few weekends a year.

Gareth Senkow (Seven Sisters Falls, 2020-11-23)

#532

This MPR is a bigger economy builder and entertainment venue than is perceived. Any locals that complain about noise are most likely tell a lie. They are to far away to even see the cars never mind hear them. Hopefully this venue carries on for many years to come.

Denny Kaleta (Winnipeg , 2020-11-23)

#533

I think that racing in any community is a great thing as long as all rules are abided by. It gives people a place to to run the cars they work hard on, and has the ability to reduce street racing.
The racing community by in large are well behaved and a great addition to any community.

#543

Grew up around muscle cars, and friends with race cars. now my kids are into it and is awesome to be able to go out and watch the races so close to home. Also I believe this can keep our streets a little safer as the younger generation will have a track up the road , rather than city streets to race their buddies.

Alan Kotelniski (West st paul, 2020-11-23)

Been approved by council

Glen Duchnycz (Winnipeg, 2020-11-23)

#552

We need a raceway to prevent street racing in st andrew area, if the residents don't like it then they'll especially not like it when it's on their front street. Keep the race way where it is.

It’s a proven tack that if people have a place to play responsibility then it takes it off the street and save lives

Roy Wood (St François xavier, 2020-11-24)

#580

Every one complains about street racing, then when a legal way to allow people to show off comes about they complain about that. The city needs a closer track then Gimli. This is the answer!

Morley Spratt (Winnipeg, 2020-11-24)

#581

This track is a perfect distance from the city and we don’t have to drive 1.5 hours to gimli, as well it provides a nice safe place to actually let our cars rip and hav fun with them and helps keep it off the street

Ben Green (Winnipeg , 2020-11-24)

#586

Im signing this because us car enthusiasts need an outlet to drive our cars fast and legal.
