Because of unfairness from the department of education in hiring educators of Fundza as first preference and sidelining those of us without financial aid, where else our single parents struggled paying. In addition to making certain that schools/principles do not practice nepotism when hiring new educators but are hiring according to correct principles made when hiring new educators by the Department.

I am signing this petition because I have been looking for teaching job and with no luck, I feel like the department of education has failed us as graduates. Lot of schools needs teachers but the department doesn't want to employ teachers, instead they employ temporary teachers and they get paid late, now they employed assistants with the money that they can use to employ those graduates even of it's on temporary basis not matriculants on our expenses.

I'm signing because I am a qualified but unemployed teacher. I haven't been employed from 2018. Firstly preference is given to Funza Lushaka bursary holder at our expense. Who is to employ us if the Department of Education does not want to employ because we were using NSFAS. So I am signing this petition to voice out my concern about this matter. CAN WE ALL BE GIVEN EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES.

I’ve completed my Bsc degree and I dropped cv’s at different schools whereby I was told that I need to do PGCE for 1 year in order for me to teach ,and the reason why I dropped the cvs at schools was because I knew few people who were educators without having PGCE certificates but with only their degrees ... then I went back to the varsity to do the PGCE and now my PGCE is useless as they hired the EA’s without a degree or diploma but with only grade12, and in other places those EA’s are teaching children...wtf is that ? They failed to hired someone with a degree but they trust the grade12?And another thing which is the biggest problem is that I did FET and senior phase (PGCE) and they now asking us whether we did our maths, physics ,life sciences and chemistry up to which level or year in your undergrad... if you did one of them only in your first year your chances of getting the job are slim ..you won’t be hired and I even know that there were educators who were employed with their first year undergrad modules and they are getting 100% in those modules ... things are getting difficult for nothing just to destroy us ... what is vetting letter ? Isn’t the same as police clearance? If you have ever abused a child that will appear on your police clearance ,isn’t so ? And that vetting letter we have to wait for it for the rest of our lives to return ,and other schools want that Heses ... our parents used to say “education is a key to success “ but not anymore but connection is the only key to success in South Africa

#969

I have been unemployed after years of studying and experience, because funza students/teachers are placed into positions and teachers with more experience are not being employed due to this.
This is wrong and unfair. I studied much harder, long distance and even achieved two degrees but new teachers with no expertise are placed into positions. This is unfair towards all teachers and the learners. Educators with the highest and most experienced teacher should be placed first.

#998

I am unemployed accounting and economics teacher , I’ve been struggling to find employment for two year. It is quite strange that the DBE has money to hire specialist from Cuba whereas South African public schools have been waiting for months to get their post approved and that teachers that are already in the system are overworked because the DBE says they dot have money to employ new teacher but have money for everything else that doesn’t benefit South Africa, it’s heart breaking.
