SAICA releases the APC results prior to candidates being forced to rewrite.

I've seen the toll this exam took on my sister charis du Plessis, and to make her rewrite without cause would be inhumane, unjustified, unethical and unreasonable, without consulting her marks first.

Paula Du Plessis (Port Elizabether, 2021-12-08)

I am affected by this decision and would rather want my results of my original assessment to be made known to me prior to attempting to write the assessment again.

Stefan Toerien (Johannesburg, 2021-12-08)

As someone who wrote APC on 1 December 2021 I don't think it is fair to the candidates who may have passed in December to have to re write and go through all that stress without knowing their December APC results

Celesté Jones (Bloemfontein , 2021-12-08)

I do not think it is fair to make us write before we know if we have passed or not. As much as it has been framed as a ‘choice’, the marking is subjective so most of us will be inclined to rewrite even if we feel we may have done well.

The next exam would be in just over a month and many of us already have plans and commitments. If the exam were later in the year, we would be able to adequately prepare and would be out of busy season.

Megan Mckeon (London, 2021-12-08)

I agree, if we dont receive our results before the rewrite we are actually being forced to write and not really have an "option" to do it.

Sadia Shaik (Durban, 2021-12-08)

#429

I want my marks before the option is presented to rewrite.

David Gudmanz (Johannesburg, 2021-12-08)

#438

I feel it is fair for candidates to know the outcome of their Final exam before having to sit for another exam.
The mindset of the candidate influences performance on the day.

Simone Lu (Cape Town, 2021-12-08)

#441

I'm signing because releasing results before would be the only ethical thing to do.

Melishia Ankiah (Ladysmith , 2021-12-08)

#442

I want my marks back before we rewrite the exam.

Curtly Olyn (Stellenbosch, 2021-12-08)

I am immigrating to the Netherlands in the new year, therefore writing the assessment will not be possible. Results should be released before the re-write

Shannon Gray (Johannesburg, 2021-12-08)

#456

I am signing this petition as I believe it is our right to receive our results for the initial assessment - the results of the initial assessment should inform whether or not a candidate must be subjected to a re-exam.

Lynn Tanev (Port Elizabeth, 2021-12-08)

#460

I'm signing because I feel we have a right to receive our results prior to re-writing so that we can make an informed decision about whether we need to re-write or not. Further to this, I do not feel that we should need to prove our competence twice because of SAICA's lack of competence.

Alexandra Antunes (London, 2021-12-08)

#463

I would like the results to be released before rewrite.

Mulweli Rakhadani (Johannesburg, 2021-12-08)

#467

I believe that a rewrite is unfair to the majority of the parties and think there should be a supplementary test If a candidate did not pass.

Dewald Olivier (Kruger , 2021-12-08)

#468

Results must be released prior to considering a rewrite opportunity.

Keenan O'Sullivan (Johannesburg, 2021-12-08)

#471

SAICA is responsible for this whole situation.
The cannot make decisions that do not include the most important stakeholders in this decision, which are the APC students.
They are dictating the process instead of creating a proper engagement process. None of our suggestions were taken into consideration. The CEO, was not prepared to answer questions. He told us things we already knew and experienced. He spoke about transparency but were not transparent at all. Numerous students said release the results and do the rewrite thereafter. However, he could not indicate why this cannot be done

Earlene Moses (Port Elizabeth, 2021-12-08)

#474

I'm signing because I don't think it's fair to make the students rewrite if they have already passed.... Which is only known if the results are released before the rewrite...

Victor Antunes (Johannesburg, 2021-12-08)

#485

It is only fair that if you have failed you need to rewrite and if you have passed there should be no way that you need to endure it again.

Nicholas Bacon (Durban, 2021-12-08)

#489

I am signing this petition as I believe Saica decision is not fair to all of us

Basetsana Edwards (Johannesburg , 2021-12-08)

#493

We should be entitled to receive results before the re-write period.

Ruwaifa Mahomed (Johannesburg, 2021-12-08)

#495

I am signing because I would like to know my results before I decide whether to re-write or not.

Tamsyn Hayter (Port Elizabeth, 2021-12-08)

#496

I do not want to re-write before my results are release. SAICA thinks we are not paying for the repeat exam, when in turn we are paying with our time and our money due to UNPAID LEAVE I would need to take to re-write it. SAICA’s gross incompetence should not result on the candidates spending another 5days of research and 8hours of your life if you don’t even know the outcome of the previous exam.

Hester Steyn (Johannesburg , 2021-12-08)

#501

Never have I seen where those that have been disadvantaged by the system will be further disadvantaged and traumatized by the remedy! Allow us to receive results before the rewrites so that only those that need to will sit the rewrite.

Carrie-Anne Du Plooy (London, 2021-12-08)

#510

I would like saica to release results first and then allocate a rewrite to those who did not pass.

Sameera Vallie (Cape Town , 2021-12-08)

#512

Rewriting the exam before the results being released removes any informed choices on the candidate’s side. To rewrite when you passed the first exam, purely because you did not know, is completely unacceptable. I cannot imagine how this could work in the middle of busy season, when things are so difficult on engagements.

Thelize van Wyk (Johannesburg , 2021-12-08)

#514

HOW CAN YOU MAKE THEM REWRITE WITHOUT GIVING THEM THEIR RESULTS FIRST

Chanté Van vuuren (Port Elizabeth, 2021-12-08)

#515

I am signing because I am against us having to rewrite before the marks are released.

Jan Vermeulen (Cape Town, 2021-12-08)

#520

I believe that SAICA should release the December APC marks before the proposed rewrite in order to allow candidates to make an informed decision if they need to rewrite or not depending on the results of the Dec exam.

Kamendrin Moodley (Port Elizabeth , 2021-12-08)

#523

I want results to be released first before taking the rewrite

Denise Twaku (Harare, 2021-12-08)

#524

Affected by Apc disaster. Not rewriting unless I have to

Ann Sanders (Lakeside, 2021-12-08)

#528

I agree, we should not have the rewrite before the marks are released. It makes no sense for a number of reasons, which include:
- the exam is strenuous and students shouldn’t have to write again, this option will force candidates to write again because if we don’t we are effectively gambling on our future.
- we are seniors managing big engagements during our busy season in January - April, APC on top of this will have an adverse impact on trainees well-being.
- it is a waste of resources for everyone to write again, since SAICA could barely handle it the first time it makes no sense to have that many write again, and to furthermore expect markers to mark double the amount of scripts.

Roark Baleson (Johannesburg, 2021-12-08)

#530

Students who have already passed the APC should not be subjected to the psychological and emotional anguish of going through the APC process again.

Zjené Schmidt (Bedfordview, 2021-12-08)

#532

I'm signing this petition, as the decision made by SAICA is completely and utterly horrendous. After putting the trainees through the pressure of preparing and writing under such pathetic conditions, they go and decide to make everyone write again for a second time. As per the radio interview with the CEO of SAICA, trainees who have passed should not need to write again. The results of the first seating should be released and those who were unsuccessful should be given the opportunity to write again in Feb 2022.

Talia Pillay (Johannesburg , 2021-12-08)

#533

SAICA to release the APC results before a rewrite

Mashudu Munyai (Johannesburg, 2021-12-08)

#539

It is unfair and puts extra stress on the students

Monya van Tonder (Port elizabeth , 2021-12-08)

#540

Because it is unfair

Monique Marais (Port Elizabeth , 2021-12-08)

#556

It makes no sense having every candidate disrupt their lives, their February plans, travel arrangements or future career opportunities if they don't have to. As unfair as it may be to have others be discouraged by failing on 1 Dec, it is far worse to set back those who have suffered and still proven their competence through difficult times when it is unnecessary to do so.

Andrico Goosen (Sandton, 2021-12-08)

#563

I feel that the candidates have written the exam in good faith and have the right to receive their results BEFORE a re-write (in need)

Susan Antunes (Johannesburg , 2021-12-08)

#566

Please release the results mid January 2022 and we can decide to take the re-write option should we fail the December Exam

S'boniso Mnguni (Johannesburg, 2021-12-08)

#569

I want the results to be released before the second writing session in order to see if it is necessary to sit a second time.

Daniel Steenkamp (Bloemfontein, 2021-12-08)

#584

The candidates have been working hard and this is not fair to stress them all over again.

Anke van Greunen (Worcester , 2021-12-08)
