End School Mask Mandates for EG Students

It is time to remove the masks from our children. Those who wish to continue to wear masks should be able to but those who would prefer not to should be free to do so.

Lisa Pomeroy (East Greenwich, 2022-02-05)

The potential educational harms of mandatory-masking policies are much more firmly established, than their possible benefits in stopping the spread of COVID-19.

Kristin David (East Greenwich, 2022-02-05)

#6

It should be a choice of the parents what we feel is best for our kids.

Jackie Ayotte (East Greenwich , 2022-02-05)

#7

Enough is enough!!!!! Our kids need to be able to walk around and see one another. The masks are an unnecessary burden! Take them off PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

Beth Nardozzi (East Greenwich, 2022-02-05)

#8

We have moved past the fear. It’s time. If we can fill stadiums and concert arenas, we can allow our kids the choice of wearing a mask. Please do what’s right for our children.

Jen Righi (East Greenwich, 2022-02-05)

#15

Kids shouldn’t be wearing masks any longer! Enough is enough!

Sherri Tracey (East Greenwich, 2022-02-05)

I love our children and I feel it is absolutely wrong to do this to our children!

Nanci Kleber (East Greenwich Rhode island, 2022-02-05)

#20

I believe masks do little to prevent the transmission of the disease and does a great deal of harm to children’s psychological and social emotional health and well as has a negative impact on learning.

Diane Daigle (East Greenwich , 2022-02-05)

#22

Masks detract from the learning experience.

Marilyn Bollengier (East greenwich, 2022-02-05)

The kids deserve to be out of masks.

Lindsay Miller (East greenwich, 2022-02-05)

I would like masking to be optional. This is not right. Our kids are matter! All kids matter! Social development matters! Please end this.

Andrea Sayegh (East Greenwich, 2022-02-05)

Children deserve to get back to a more normal life at this point in the pandemic.

Renata Ricci (East Greenwich, 2022-02-05)

#46

Kids should not be masked!!!!

Cassandra Ford (East greenwich , 2022-02-05)

#47

Masks cause harm to children and cause aignificant learning loss.

Brenda McCarthy (East Greenwich , 2022-02-05)

#49

I would like the right to decide if my child is forced to wear a mask. Her mask comes home filthy, and wet, rendering it ineffective. While adults gather, attend concerts, football games, dinner parties….our children should not be forced to wear a mask for 6 hours a day in school. Any child who wants to wear a mask should have that right as well and should wear an N95 which would negate any “risk” my unmasked child poses to them or their health.

Aili Calore (East Greenwich , 2022-02-05)

#50

It’s time to return to a life without masking or, at least, the choice to do so. Most people have either had COVID or are vaccinated. There is no threat to our children. Immune compromised individuals can get vaccinated and continue to wear masks. Stop the madness- unmask our kids!

Aimee Casagrande (East Greenwich, 2022-02-05)

#52

The science no longer backs masking and other draconian measures…. If we are truly following the science then get these masks off our kids!

Jennifer Mignanelli (East Greenwich , 2022-02-05)

#74

The time to end mask mandates is long overdue!

Paul Zarrella (East Greenwich, 2022-02-05)

#77

The masks and everything around them have taken over almost all of the actual learning. It’s all about following the masking policy and not much learning is actually happening. Kids are being harmed by this without a doubt. My 7th grader used to love school and now he is constantly upset and can not stand being in a mask all day that does just about nothing to mitigate any spread of Covid.
It is time to let them get back to their lives
Enough is enough
Thanks

My daughter is in EG schools. Masks are ridiculous!

Jill Bibby (East Greenwich, 2022-02-05)

I believe that masking children is doing more harm than good. It should be up to each family to decide.

https://ri-department-of-health-covid-19-fatality-data-rihealth.hub.arcgis.com/ Zero deaths south of age 25. Embarrassed to live in a place that has allowed this to go on for so long.

Erik Wilcox (East greenwich, 2022-02-05)

We re well overdue for the removing of masks for children, or at least leave it to personal choice. These overly strict protocols are hazardous to development and social health. The right to choose to wear or not wear a mask. We as parents need to foster the well-being of our children.

Tracy Clement (East greenwich , 2022-02-05)

#106

Because common sense is not so common…

Daniela McClanaghan (East Greenwich , 2022-02-05)

Cases have plummeted. The endemic has begun. Our community is 75% vaccinated. It is safe now to end the mask mandate.

Corrie Dolan (East Greenwich , 2022-02-05)

#114

The masks are not effective, let these children be normal again

Nicole Gemma (East Greenwich , 2022-02-05)

#124

I'm a parent who believes masking does more harm than good. If you are vaccinated you are protected and it is not your job to protect the unvaccinated everyone makes their own choice.

Monica Mason (East Greenwich, 2022-02-05)

#127

UNMASK MY CHILDREN!

Stacey Forbes (East Greenwich , 2022-02-05)

Kids need to be unmasked!

Jaclyn Boichat (East greenwich, 2022-02-05)

#142

Outrageous what is being done with these mask mandates. They are CLEARLY doing far more harm to people and especially children than the virus itself.

My grandson is a student at EG. he has been affected both physically and emotionally by the mask mandate. Please- stop the masking of our youth.

Victoria Withers (Lynn, 2022-02-05)

#158

Younger kids were NOT wearing masks in the early stages of COVID when there were NO vaccinations and uncertainty. Not the case now. Why students are being forced to wear masks now is terrible on many levels and does not reflect well on those who are choosing to let this continue.

Everyone needs to remember ALL of our elected officials who are choosing to continue the masking of our children.

Christopher Beaulieu (East Greenwich, RI, 2022-02-06)

#159

I'm signing because the masks do not prevent the spread. But more importantly because of the emotional, physical, and intellectual harm that wearing these masks causes

Ann Marie Caron (Warwick, 2022-02-06)

#161

I'm signing because 2 years of Masking has had a negative impact on child development.

Megan Lawler (North Kingstown, 2022-02-06)

I have two children In public schools who are completely healthy and constantly getting rashes on their face and are have noticed they are always way more tired on school days having to wearing a mask all day. Kids need real air to breath and normal elements to breath in to keep their immune systems up. There is no need for healthy children with no symptoms to have to wear a mask all day during school.

Krystal Marie (East Greenwich, 2022-02-06)

#172

Ask the cdc

Brian DeRosa (Pawtucket , 2022-02-06)

#174

I don’t think it’s healthy for kids to wear masks in school all day.

Meghann Peterson (East Greenwich , 2022-02-06)

#182

Follow the science and unmask these kids NOW! My kids are no longer in EG schools, but I hear horror stories from so many of my EG friends with kids still in school. Stop the madness. Enough is enough!

Cheri Moss (Narragansett, 2022-02-06)

#189

These masks are a farce and most states have dropped them. Practically every where I go nobody enforces it anyway. Stop hurting our kids.

Michael Gariglio (East Greenwich , 2022-02-06)

#190

My child can hold his breath all day so there’s no need for him to wear a mask.

Carisa Wahlig (East Greenwich, 2022-02-06)

#192

This is child abuse. Large percentage of our population and our teachers are fully vaccinated as well as students. Why continue the mask??? They’ve endured enough especially while trying to play a sport while wearing a mask?!?! It’s abuse. They’re trying to live milestones older ppl got to experience let them experience them too.

Erin Dessert (East Greenwich , 2022-02-06)

#199

Enough is enough. We have done all we have been asked to do. It’s time to let our children have back a normal maskless day.
